Only a couple of more weeks before I cancel my Match account in August, so this is my big push.
Most people describe me as a very funny guy. My humor, sometimes, is a little much for people at first. I usually joke with a straight face and people that do not know me think I am being serious. Pretty direct guy that prefers a woman to tell me if she has issues with what I said or did, rather than give the silent treatment and tell me I should know why she is upset.
Currently living in the Inverness area of Birmingham for about three years. Prior to Birmingham, I was in Nashvillle, Knoxville, and Japan. Knoxville to Nashville to Birmingham were all work transfers. I do enjoy Birmingham. Glad to know there is a Tin Roof bar in Birmingham, now.
Friends. When it comes to friends, I have a few close friends. I am not one to have lots of casual friends. Friends that I do make, I tend to remain really close. I met my best friend in Knoxville back in 2003. He and his wife have lived in D.C. for years and he is still my best friend. I try to make it up to D.C. at least once a year to visit. A group of friends also meet up every Memorial Day weekend at Folly Beach, South Carolina. This year marked the 9th year our group has made the trip to Folly.
Still trying to get back into running shape after tearing my ACL back in April 2011. I tore it on my 36th birthday playing in a kickball game. It was my first and last kickball game. These days, I hit the YMCA three times a week and walk on the treadmill and run on the elliptical.
An independent woman with a good family relationship is a must. Since I am a conservative Republican, I only see myself with a conservative woman. I know every family has some type of drama. The drama usually comes out around family gatherings. I am the youngest of eight, so I just sit back and enjoy the show when the drama starts.
I really enjoy Thai, Japanese, Italian, and Mediterranean food. Sushi is good about once a quarter. Did not get into sushi until my third year living in Japan.

Normally, I'd rather have a root canal or watch a Nicolas Cage movie marathon than talk about myself (not sure which is more painful). However, this is a dating site, so it comes with the territory. First off, this is not my first time on this site. I was on here in 2010, with mixed results. Overall, it was a good experience, so I'm giving it another shot.
I'm just a good guy looking for a good girl. Oh, if it was only that simple! I consider myself a laid-back person. I prefer to leave drama to the movies and TV. People tell me I have a great sense of humor, but I consider it more the witty type. I tend to keep the people at work laughing, but it just comes natural.
