Like many, I enjoy travel: everything from a weekend road trip to Moab to a month long trek in Nepal. I spent this June alpine mountain climbing in the Alaska Range, Denali National Park, which was spectacular. Lots of moose. My next BIG trip will likely be a long sabbatical to New Zealand. I'd love to find someone who is as active and excited to explore the mountains and the natural world as I am. EDIT: Learned I should be a bit clearer here. If many of these activities are things you currently enjoy on a *regular* basis, then let's chat, we might be compatible. Let's start with these common interests and go from there. And yes, I know that everyone in Colorado on Match is into the "outdoors" but it's what I do, so I want to be honest and upfront about how much time I spend doing it. Don't worry, I enjoy other activities too but I didn't move to Colorado simply to hit the Saturday farmer's market, hang at a cafe or try the new contemporary eclectic restaurant (although these things are fun).
All that said, I'm not just a nature boy. Back in the day I lived in Chicago and used to be an urban night owl and could hold my own at any party. Now you're more likely to find me at the gym before work. This does not mean, however, that I don't like to have fun or get into trouble once in awhile. I can enjoy all the amenities of a five star hotel but won't complain when faced with third world plumbing. I like reading and watching a good movie but am also very active and love to play outside. I love to eat great, healthy food and enjoy trying new restaurants but I won't turn down pizza. I have an incredibly goofy and somewhat sarcastic sense of humor but can be serious when I should be.
What qualities would I love to find in another person? There are no set criteria, but curiosity and a sense of adventure count for a lot. The desire to explore—whether it's finding something new to do close to home or planning our next excursion to a far away land—will certainly capture my attention. Show me something new, share your enthusiasm with me, and I'm a happy man. Someone who is confident, positive, laid back and very fit will turn my head. A woman who enjoys challenges and will just try harder when the going gets tough, without complaint. I also value generosity, kindness, a silly sense of humor, patience and a quick smile. I admire those who have close, loving relationships with their family, as I do. So while it's difficult to put it all into words, I can recognize and appreciate the spark if I'm fortunate enough to find it. Oh, and I don't watch a lot of network TV, so if that's your thing you might want to pass on by. I can feel myself getting dumber when trapped by reality shows.

I live in Erie (don't cringe) it is 23 mins from Lodo and 20 mins to Boulder. I work in downtown Boulder so I really like the location of the house. When not a work I do a lot of biking (road and mtn), skiing, snow shoeing, reading, going to Bronco games (season ticket holder), and I reluctantly follow my Cubbies in the summer. And yes, I'm from Chicago and have been here 11 years. I love watching movies at home or out, I have my shows I can't miss (Community, 30 Rock, The Office, Dexter, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Showtime/HBO shows, and one or two other guilty pleasures). What else, I like seeing good DJs and bands. Music is a passion and my tastes are quite eclectic (here's a sample of what's on my Ipod: Aimee Mann, air, amon tobin, aphex twin, beach house, broadcast, Bon iver, the field, gotan project, Iron and Wine, jane's addiction, jeremy enigk, stereolab, yo la tengo, cat power, Spiritualized, Dandy Warhols, Neutral Milk Hotel, Nick Drake, Balkan Beat Box, Bardo Pond, Ulrich Schnauss, and the list goes on and on). This isn't my first time living in Colorado though, I spent seventeen years in the southwest part of the state and had a blast. For the last two years I called Santa Fe home and recently moved to Boulder.

I love Colorado and Boulder and everything it has to offer. I have traveled all over the world and still haven't found anywhere else I would rather live (But I do love the beach too!). It is the perfect place to live a balanced life....work hard and play hard.
I love all of the typical Colorado activities...road biking, running, swimming, mountain biking, telemark skiing, hiking, skate skiing, etc. I used to be a little extreme about some of my hobbies (triathlons), but now I just like getting outside to enjoy the day and spend time with friends. I work from home (think fuzzy slippers and PJs) so I am lucky that I can play outside almost every day.
I love to travel (25 countries and counting!), be spontaneous and do new things.
