I love art, I love books, I love life and making the most out of everything. I'm not much of a future thinker at this point in my life, I tend to think more in the now and see the future as a place where many different things are possible. I am an artist, mainly working in glass art. I make large Stained glass windows and Fused glass art (plates/vases/jewelry/etc.) and i LOVE every minute of it. Doing my glass art is my zen, my form of meditation, my safe happy place. I am studying child development/early childhood education with plans to get my BA and MA down the road. I work part time, and spend most of the rest of the week volunteering at the amazing art studio where I work, which happen to be in Golden Gate Park!. I have volunteered a lot in my life, growing up I tutored younger kids at the library after school, and I did a two year stint as the team leader of a low income preschool in bay view, which was absolutely amazingly wonderful because the kids were so great. I Talk a lot and I laugh a lot (sometimes at myself) which I like about myself, because honestly, one needs to have a sense of humor about life.
I dont have a list to describe the ideal person I would like to meet, I just think when you click, you click. I tend to get to know people as friends before I get serious about "falling in love" or what have you. I value friendship above all, and I tend to fall in "friendship" pretty quickly.
I think some good qualities in people in general, are: having a good, kind heart (even if one talks tough to cover it up), having good values, being able to talk is great, but also being able to listen, and really understand what whoever is talking is trying to say. good communication skills, being open-minded and open to other peoples opinions, even if they are not akin to yours, intelligence, good compromising/solution finding skills, having fun in whatever you do, being able to talk to each other like adults and really resolve any issue that may arise, being supportive, and accepting support from others, remembering to smile if things get too serious, the ability to laugh at oneself if you do something ridiculous, and I think what is really important is to make each other happy. Sometimes my best friend and I will write each other letters, or a happy mid day text, or something, just cause, if you love someone, its nice to do little things like that for each other. I would much rather get a funny mid day text now and then, than any fancy expensive gifts.
I am a San Francisco Native and I plan to spend my life here, with some world traveling thrown in. I am a diehard SF Giants (baseball) fan and Golden State Warriors (basketball) fan. I read the sports page in the SF Chronicle every morning at breakfast, with some news stories thrown in now and then. That said, I'm also a girly girl, I like jewelry and make up and cool clothes and all that, just for fun.
Anyway, this has been a long and way too serious ramble, so hopefully whoever is reading it has gotten to this point. What I want is for whoever I meet to be honest and open, and basically be a friend to me, and who knows what else will come of it. Worst thing that will hapeen, is I will get a few new friends, right?
