I grew up in Southern California and went to school in Santa Cruz, which I thought was an awesome place. I currently live in Santa Monica and enjoy the sun and beach everyday. I have a 3 year old Yellow Lab, who is awesome! I think there is a lot more to life than work, so everyone should work less and have more fun! I am half Asian and Half Jewish. I have eight tattoos all of which have significant meaning.
One of my favorite things about living in LA is the awesome music scene. I appreciate almost all types of music, but I'm definitely into more of the indie and electronic sound. Some of my favorite music is by Justice, Daft Punk, M83, Dada Life, Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia, Avicci, Skrillex, Diplo, A-Trak, Laidback Luke, Nero, Porter Robinson, Stars, XX, Chromeo, Empire of the Sun, Beach House, Local Natives, Cut Copy, Yeasayer. I would have to say that my overall favorite sound right now is Bag Raiders. I honestly like most types of music though! I think the best sounds right now are coming out of Australia and France.
I think that many people take life way to seriously. I am on a constant journey to try to find what is truly important to me and I think it changes over time; however, at the end of the day it is the company of good people and having a good time. I also think a lot about politics and social issues; what is going on in the world is extremely important to me.

Born in France, grew up north of Boston and I worked for the University of Florida Football team after college. After a couple years, I wanted a change of scenery and moved to LA in the summer of 2011, and couldn't be happier now living in Santa Monica. I have a challenging but rewarding job and incredible friends all over the country and in LA. I certainly value my relationships with them, and make sure to get home a few times a year.
I absolutely love sports, movies, going to the beach (it is awesome to live next to it), exploring the world and having new experiences, and of course being terrible at karaoke with my friends. I just finished driving across country by myself, and it was even more outrageous and incredible than I could have imagined. No matter what situation I find myself in, I will try to make myself and anyone around me laugh.

Date men and women from California, United States. I grew up in Austin, and moved out here two years ago. I love living by the beach and play volleyball and softball on the weekends.
I like to stay active, but I'm not too competitive. I just ran my first half marathon in January and loved it. I like going to the farmer's market, riding my bike along the beach, and I also make a killer chocolate cheesecake.
I've also been peer pressured into hiking up a snow covered mountain and skiing down an area marked by a skull and crossbones warning sign. Slept in the Madrid bus station at 5 am? Yes. I'm pretty sarcastic and love all types of comedy. Some of my favorites things: Wes Anderson movies, apples and peanut butter, running along the beach, playing tennis, skiing, tacos (breakfast or regular), getting as many samples at Whole Foods as I can, reading multiple books at a time, and big dogs. I once tried to adopt a Mastiff after a Sunday Funday, but that is another story.

If you manage to read the entire thing then I give you major kudos for having a great attention span. I almost feel obligated to go on a date with you for your achievement...almost.
I'm a girly girl on the outside but in some ways a little tomboy on the inside. I love my dresses, my makeup, and my high heels but don't ever assume I have a girly girl personality. I am a lot tougher than I look. I assure you I am very small but very resilient. I'm never too pretty to get dirty and sweaty. In fact you'll find that I usually do the handy work around the house and all my own heavy lifting. You should see me use my power drill.
I'm brutally blunt and I often call it as I see it. I pride myself in being a rational, objective, honest, and partial person which men seem to think is impossible for a woman but it's true, we exist. Transparency is a MUST in any relationship so I keep it real but I expect the same candidness in return. I have thick skin and hardly take things personally so you can tell me you're just not that into me and I'll respect you more for having the balls to tell me so. ;-)

I prefer to live my life as a minimalist and I don't get attached to material things. Never really cared for labels or trends. Life is much simpler and more pleasant when you're practical. I find that as I make more money, I stay frugal with myself but spend more money spoiling the people I care about

Date a soulmate from California, United States. Hi there! My name's Emily. I'm originally from Texas but found myself in California three years ago. I work in PR way too many hours a week, but when I'm not working, I try to make the most of living in Santa Monica.
As much as I love LA, I miss Texas (northeast to be exact) almost every day. It's a beautiful place with really wonderful people. I also love SF, southern Wisconsin (don't judge), NYC, Northwest Arkansas (again, don't judge), Boston, Northern Ireland, Rome (!!!), London, and many other places. I hope to travel more soon, but with 10 vacation days a year, that becomes quite the challenge.
Most of my friends would describe me as sweet and kind. That may sound boring, but I still manage to balance the niceness with a fun sense of humor, personality and spunk. I think the nice part comes from my grandma, who is, without a doubt, a total angel, and the silly/funny side of me comes from my mom and dad.
Family means a lot to me. While they do have their quirks, I wouldn't trade them for anything.
Whether it comes from Match or another area of life, I look to hopefully have a loving, Godly, life-long relationship like my grandparents. She's 95, and he's 92, and they're both still very much in love. He cares for her, and she brags on him to anyone who will listen. They are the perfect example of what a relationship should be.

Just seeing who's out there since I haven't met the right guy just yet through the usual avenues: particularly bars and romantic happenstance. I was born and raised in the DC area but have family out here and have been living happily in LA for 2 years. friends describe me as laid back, sarcastic, quirky and outgoing. Sometimes I think my friends use me to get closer to my family - but I don't blame them, my family members are hilarious and awesome.
