I am an extremely optimistic realist who enjoys life tremendously. I’m a free thinking objectivist with Judeo-Christian values and an affinity toward eastern philosophy (Taoism). I’m quite adventurous, but the older I get, the less likely I am to go cliff diving in shallow waters. Don’t get me wrong, I love AFLAC, but I would rather not use it.
I love my job, my family, and my life. When I wake up in the morning, my first thoughts are usually about how grateful I am, and then I want the mocking bird out on my veranda to shut up. No kidding, that bird is annoying.

I'm a little late to the party when it comes to dating, as I was quite shy growing up...but now with teaching I've come to realize how much more there is to life when you start up a conversation and meet someone new.
To sum-up myself: I'm a professor and visual artist specializing in computer animation and visual effects. So I like to think deep thoughts (whatever that means!), but also enjoy cooking healthy good tasting food (that's a hard combo!), sci-fi epics, and the odd sporting event. Pedagogically, I'm interested in teaching in order to bring about social change through computer graphics, but that's a long dorky story. Artistically, I'm fascinated by the spanish civil war and the time George Orwell spent there. Particularly his focus on the amazing movements the Catalan people began their during that time. I like to surf. I would not say I'm good, but I love every minute of it. I can be quite ironic sometimes, so don't take everything I say seriously, but do please laugh when in doubt. Deep down I'm a caring guy, and I won't lead you on. If I'm around you in a deep way then that's how I am really feeling. I'm not a fake.
As for someone I'm looking for... someone who is real, who has passion for something in their life, who sees something in me that they think is special, who respects others, and who is a little nerdy sometimes. Other than that I'm really open to anyone, beauty is so intangible it's really impossible to describe anyway.

I enjoy quality time with friends and family. I love to new restaurants and exploring new places. Even if it involves taking a bit of a drive to get there. Driving there would be half the fun :)
I'm pretty much up for anything that sounds like fun which could include going to the beach or getting cabin in the mountains.
I'm the type of person who will help others on a daily basis. The other day I was at a coffee shop and saw a sweet older woman. She was having a hard time moving through the crowd. As you can imagine most people are in a rush to get their coffee and completely oblivious to anyone else around them. So I helped make a path for her to get by safely without the fear of getting knocked down.
I workout regularly and ride a mountain bike, and am always trying to eat healthy (except when a burger sneaks in there :)
I've been running a lot lately and completed my first 10K. Now I think i'm hooked :)

entertaining Kids and scaring the Parents of said kids on Halloween, by opening up my garage to the masses as a haunted house. (It's way more fun to scare the parents! Sometimes the kids help!)
Loyalty, Honesty, Integrity... These are all awesome traits and someday I'll collect them all! I may not be perfect, but I always treat a lady like a princess, unless told otherwise.
I consider myself to be pretty well rounded in this department, but I love to learn about other's interests as well. Media is best when shared.
Books: The Difference Engine, Lord of the Rings, Mostly Sci Fi and Fantasy. I also spend a ton of time reading technical books for the job, but then that's not very fun is it?
Movies: Shaun of the Dead, Goonies, Cyberpunk films are always fun. My two favorite movies ever are The Life Aquatic and The Princess Bride. I prefer Action and comedy, I love movies that make you think however, and those tend to be light on the comedy and action. I guess you could say I like most kinds of movies. From mindless to esoteric. I enjoy watching anime and foreign films as well.
Music: Eletronic music in all it's forms
(electro, trance, there's a special place in my heart for hardcore
techno), Swing, Classical. I love my 80's; DM, cure, Oingo Boingo, and on the reverse side of the coin I have a guilty pleasure of listening to big hair bands of the 80's. Ever hear of Dio?
Food: Depends on my mood. I Love basics like Sashimi, Mexican, and Italian, pub food, the occasional fast food, and I LOVE mom and pop sandwich shops, however it's really fun once in a while to hit up a high end restaurant like Morton's, or Flemming's, and enjoy a nice high quality meal.
I'm always thinking about my next move. I'm a thinker, a planner, and strategist. Right now I'm thinking I should think more about now... It's difficult, but I'm trying!
So is it wrong that I really like music by a group called millennium but I think it sounds 1000% better when it's remixed into Nightcore?
I also spend a lot of time thinking about the politics of real and imaginary worlds (New Eden for example), Or about photography, or business, many things really.
Do you have a typical Friday night? I can be at home taking over the universe virtually, or maybe I'm in a pub crawl. Board game night at my buddy Tina's House? Sure. Oh look, we have a full tank of gas!! Let's see.. where to... How about... West? Yeah my friends and I, sometimes we just pick a direction and go. Hey it's 2 am and we're bored, let's go find the end of this street! Pop some mp3's on the stereo and BAM, entertainment has been served.
