Date people from California, United States. I am a native of the South, though you probably wouldn't realize it if we met. I have been living in the Bay Area for about 5 years now and before here I lived in Seattle for a couple of years.
I took a hiatus from Match, this is my brief return. I took the last couple of years to focus on grad school and am finally winding that down.
My career is important to me and I am devoted to trying to make this world a better place and would like to find someone who feels the same. I am finalizing my MSOT degree, bonus points if you know what Occupational Therapy is :) ... and I am also a Coast Guard Reservist. I am busy but not as busy as I have been in the past few years.
I love enjoying the moment and laughing. I like being outdoors: camping and hiking are favorite pastimes. I enjoy trekking to Tahoe to snowboard in the winter. When I am out with friends, I like to try off-beat restaurants and dive bars. I am equally as happy relaxing at home or going out for the night.
I am looking for someone with a sense of humor about life; someone who can laugh but who also knows when to take things seriously. Obviously, I am looking for someone who is or can see themselves being a dad. My son is a huge focus in my life and I totally understand the spin that puts on dating. So, I am also looking for someone who is very mature. :)
I love to have a good time, but I do also have my priorities in line and do not live quite as wild as I did once upon a time. But I do tend to live my life in a very laid back way and would love to find someone who is a good mix of the two as well.

He should be self-confident but also modest, who knows and believes in himself throughout lifeРІР‚в„ўs ups and downs. He should be a conflict resolver, a partner who will work to resolve rather than winning arguments or conflicts within our relationship. He should love kids and would love to be a great parent.
I enjoy coming home to my family, and sharing with my loved ones about days at work/school, or taking a after-dinner stroll with my family. I also equally enjoy my own solitary time, whether sitting in a chair with my book and a cup of tea, watching a movie, or taking a leisure walk in the nature by myself.
The most influential person in my life has been:
Jesus Christ. I grew up in an atheist culture and became Christian when I was in late twenties, and my religious belief has given me totally new perspectives about life. It has led me through ups and downs in my life journey so far, and remind me to always be grateful for whatever situations I am going through.
The three things which I am most thankful for:

Meet people from United States. My friends would probably describe me as confident, kind, honest and...a wannabe comedian - I love laughing and making people laugh (even if the jokes are corny). I have a lot of friends and really enjoy spending time with people I care about. As an only child, in a lot of ways my friends are my family. In terms of free time, I could just as easily sit on the couch and watch a movie (or catch up on Dexter or Mad Men) as I could go for a hike, go out to dinner or go dancing. I also love to travel and I try to get out of the country at least once a year - my goal is to fill up that passport!
My work is a big part of who I am and I care deeply about what I do. I have dedicated my career to working towards educational equity. I believe strongly in making sure children have what they need to learn and become successful members of society. Plus, teenagers are hilarious (I'm a former high school teacher and principal).
I've always enjoyed playing sports and a couple years ago, I fell in love with football (I know, it took me a while to finally give in to the hype). I'm a diehard Saints fan and have a little space reserved in my heart for the 49ers.
I would love to find someone that is ambitious and hard-working but also committed to enjoying life and having fun. I would like someone who is athletic and has a healthy lifestyle but can also appreciate ice cream and a slice of pizza! It's all about balance and satisfaction.
