I am probably one of the most stubborn but optimistic person I know with a big, big personality. I enjoy deep conversation and truly appreciate the differences in others. That is probably why I am so drawn to acquiring new skills, having my eyes opened to new perspectives, and traveling to learn about different cultures. I believe that everyone has something to offer and something you can learn from, it is all just a matter of acknowledging it and seeking it out. I also grew up in a primarily all male family (it was always the 5 boys and me), so I'm also told that I have the tendency to think like a guy. My mom always told me to multitask. Even when you are lying in bed at night, you should be thinking and planning because if not, you are falling behind with the rest of the world and in life. I am the youngest of two of a very close family....we all live within 20 min of each other. I love being outdoors and traveling (let's be honest who doesn't?)...just got back from Indonesia where I climed Mt. Rinjani....next stop Peru. I am currently training for different events such as the tough mudder and running and swimming events. I hike and go to the beach on a regular basis so you better come with some trail shoes and some board shorts as well as a passport! I have an nine year old daughter who lives with me full time because her father just moved to Brussels, Belgium. He moved April 15, 2012. I am adjusting to my new life. I used to have every weekend off to meet new people and my ex would take my daughter. All I can say is that I'm happy to have full custody of my daughter and although life is challenging right now, I know it will be worth it in the end. It's not easy to have to rely on my mother so much for childcare, but I'm lucky to have a supportive family who has always been there for me.
Now, I'm contemplating looking for someone long term that I could actually introduce to my family. I keep my family out of my personal and dating life until there is really someone I'd introduce to my daughter. That hasn't happened in 5 years... It is very important to me to raise my daughter with an awareness of being self reliant and confidant and she is obviously spoiled in a good way and has demanded a lot of attention over the years. I take great pride raising her and with the collaborated effort of my Mother, her Father, Myself and the rest of my family. My daughter is a GATE student and excelling academically and physically.
I have found it difficult to date because I have so little free time. I'd like that to change. I'd also like to show my daughter what's its like to have a mother and father and family. (No, I don't want more children. I actually want stepchildren.)
