Thanks for checking out my profile. Let me start off by giving you a 20 second elevator pitch...I am 42, happy, friendly, witty, and self-aware, which I think are some really great qualities. That said, I want to acknowledge that I have a fault or two...or maybe twelve. But let me assure you they are all very minor! ;-)
So got a few more minutes to read? OK then let me give you a little more detail.
I recently moved here from the Midwest (I lived there for ~22 years), but I grew up in AZ and spent my summer vacations in So Cal at the beach; which made for a wonderful childhood. So, after two decades away, I'm delighted to be back living next to the "Best" Coast!!
I've spent the past several months exploring and taking advantage of the fun things that the Bay area has to offer. So to date I have been to Napa, Sonoma, Tahoe (learned to snowboard - made it down the hill first time, loved it!), explored the City (SOMA, North Beach, Marina, Russian Hill, etc.), East Bay (Piedmont, Downtown, Rockridge, Danville, Walnut Creek), I've taken Salsa dancing lessons (fun - but the instructor had a VERY weird way of counting so I spent more time laughing with my friend than I did getting the moves right), I took a painting class at some place by Lake Merritt (it's pretty awful but I'm keeping it), and the list could go on but you are hopefully starting to get the picture. I LIVE life and I enjoy each day. It's not so hard if you put your mind to it.
I decided to move to Alameda because it's centrally located and I can get to a ton of different places in the Bay area in less than 20 minutes. Also, the island has a great 1 1/2 mile long beach, which is perfect for running on a sunny day and the view of the City skyline is awesome.
411 on Body, Mind, & Soul. I am 5'7, blonde, fit (I run 4-5 times a week), well educated (I have 3 degrees), well-traveled (I've visited most States in the U.S., traveled all over Europe and actually lived in Spain for a year and a half), I am a democrat, and I have 10 brothers and sisters. Yep you just read that right, I am one of 11 kids! And you might have already guessed it but I'm from an Irish Catholic family...they're religious, I'm not.
What do I want in a partner? Well, I would like spend time with someone who is kind, smart, honest, and happy with his life. I don't want to fix you and I promise I'm not looking for someone to fix me.
So OK then, I will end my profile by listing out a few really important "deal breakers." I probably should have put them in the beginning of my summary but it seemed rude to start off with a list of don'ts. Anyway, in the spirit of being honest here goes...
1) I don't want to begin a relationship with someone who has children.
2) I just moved to the Bay area so I'm not interested in starting a relationship with someone who lives 50 miles away.
