Date single man from California, United States. An east coaster, I've been in SF for nine years and am loving it. After growing up in NJ and attending college/working in NC my manifest destiny kicked in and landed me in this beautiful city. Although I love it here, I am quick to defend northern NJ as a not totally crappy place and am thankful for my time spent learning southern culture and rounding off some of those harder northern edges.
Growing tired of the bar scene and looking for other ways to meet new and interesting people my curiosity has gotten the better of me. I'm a non-Marina guy living in the heart of the Marina....but then again without any piercings or tattoos maybe I am a Marina guy, who knows.
I'm the guy on the 30X staring off into space wondering whether liquefaction of the neighborhood means my apartment will gently sink into the ground so I can just walk safely out my bedroom window when the big one hits. Luckily I have an earthquake kit of several cases of wine and a box of protein bars, so I’m feeling pretty good.

I am focused and dedicated to my career but as I walk by a convenience store I find myself thinking about how I would walk away from it all and spend the lottery jackpot displayed in the window. After donating an embarrassing amount to UNC to secure Tarheel basketball tickets it would be time to travel to distant places.
Friends say I am entertaining, loyal and kind and that what I lack in technical chopstick skills I make up for in brute effort. Guess I just need that special girl to show me how to get that damn fish on those little sticks.

I am a simple guy, I take life as it comes and am always down for a good time and a new adventure. I enjoy most things outdoors, such as trail running and camping. I have lived off and on in Manhattan Beach for many years, so I am into all types of beach and ocean activities, such as beach running, paddleboarding, and swimming. I finally tried standup paddleboarding last weekend and absolutely loved it. It just might be my next athletic addiction.
I moved back to San Francisco in December of last year for a job. It has been great being back and reconnecting with my old friends and being closer to my family, who are very important to me.

at 16, where i stayed until moving to san francisco in late 2006. been
in the bay area ever since... i would describe myself as grounded,
sincere, honest, dependable, warm, and funny. really new to this, but
hoping to meet someone with whom to enjoy life!
i'm part of a very loving and close knit family comprised of 7
families (my dad was one of 7 siblings), 10 cousins, and now 10
nephews/nieces. all in all, our family's parties have grown to, give or take,
about 45 people. given this upbringing, i have grown to cherish close ties
with family and friends and am looking forward to contributing my own
family to these 45-person parties :-)
after grad school, i worked in several computer science research labs
developing cyber-security technologies; a friend of mine described this
work to his son as coming up with technologies to fight cyber-attacks
on computers/networks and to catch computer spies :-) about 3
years ago, however, i decided to give the real world of software startups
a try. it's been a fun ride so far; it's definitely great seeing one's work
being readily used.
apart from having fun at work, i spend most of my free time either
meeting up with friends, dancing, or on the occasional weekend,
skiing, or international getaway. i enjoy going out and exploring new
places to eat, chic places to enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail, and
i'm always up for joining friends at concerts and performances. this
past year, i've watched cuban salsa live bands, the opera, the cirque
du soleil, the blue man group, and, of course, the harlem
globetrotters. i enjoy watching live sports too, but haven't done so
for some time now.
traveling is also something i enjoy. however, traveling for me is
more about visiting new places with the people i'm traveling with,
rather than just visiting new places. i guess that means i cherish my
friends and family more than the actual traveling, which explains why
i visit my family in greece nearly every year and why i travel to
boston, london, and barcelona to catch up with close friends. having
said this, i still do have tons of places that i'd like to travel to and explore
and am looking for the right person with whom to embark on these
adventures.
here are some of the things i like:
movies: shawshank redemption, red violin, the lives of others, the
lost city, the closet, love actually, and a plethora of other romantic
comedies :-)
shows: friends, monk, dancing with the stars, and, last but definitely
not least, castle. what a show!
books: guns, germs, and steel, collapse, and all sorts of books for
work... i've had to read lots in college and still need to for work,
so on my spare time, i prefer dancing, sports, and the outdoors...
music: latin music (salsa, merengue, bachata), dance/techno, lounge,
instrumental
food: mediterranean, indian, sushi (although only recently), a good
steak, and a classic burger. oh, did i mention brunch? pancakes,
french toast, eggs benedict, yum!
sports: basketball, skiing, swimming, volleyball, soccer, tennis, ping
pong... i've also done a few sprint triathlons (quite some time ago);
pretty fun, just shocking how much trampling happens in the swim :-)
been thinking of getting back into it, just need time and company to
train with!

I tend to be shy at first, but once I get comfortable I let loose and my goofy side starts to come out.
I enjoy art, photography, going to museums and other art shows or festivals. I recently adopted a German Shepherd from a rescue organization and enjoy training her to help her remain a very obedient dog. I want to learn paint and work with colors, working with paints and color can be so relaxing. I very much enjoy cooking and experimenting with different cooking techniques, dinning out and sharing a vintage bottle of wine( mostly reds) accompanied with great conversion.
I tend to be a hardworking and serious when it comes to business since I run my own restaurant, but I believe in balancing out work and play.
When the weather is right I enjoy being outdoors. There are so many spectacular parks to visit here, perfect for an afternoon stroll and picnic with someone special. I travel there frequently for work but prefer living here in NorCal. I can have a demanding work and travel schedule so outside of work I enjoy playing tennis and riding my road or mountain bike to stay fit and when I can fit it in time in the gym, running (did a few half marathon trail runs this past year and contemplating a full) and yoga for good measure. I typically head over to Marin on the weekends to ride and am looking forward to some road trips in the near future - Shasta, Santa Cruz, and Tahoe. As far as fun in the city I enjoy grilling on the bbq at home with friends and a quiet night in by the fireplace over a nice bottle of wine but am equally up for heading out to explore a new restaurant, wine bar or check out some live music.
