I love red wine, but couldn't tell you what the hell "earthy overtones" or "grippy tannins" are- and I have little interest in becoming expert...though I can thoroughly enjoy a tasting, and won't embarrass myself at one (unless it will be fun to do so).

Music fuels me - I listen to many kinds, but tend to not like the biggest pop hits.
I love comedy/comedians, but find something about puppet comedians really disturbing.

I'm really honest and open...unlike a lot of OC'ers, I don't tiptoe around the real tough conversations. This is what real relationships are built on...solve the problems and truly enjoy the rest of life!
I have some habits that are traditional- opening the doors, walking on the street side, etc...but I am not a pushover
Trying new places to eat is a big deal for me- and the holes-in-the-wall are at least as good as the fanciest places (a mix of both is important).

Meet someone special from United States. I'm a tennis professional from England and now based in Newport . My parents were from different countries , England and South Africa , so I had quite a traditional upbringing , however my influences are also European (think chivalry and romance) having lived on that continent for many years..Tennis has always been my career after turning pro at 17 , and I've been fortunate enough to see most of the world because of that.. Some words to describe me would be classy, kind, and PASSIONATE, with a crazy sense of english humour. Am also a giver, and one of a kind. I live life the way I want to live, I act the way I want to act, and I stopped trying to impress people a long time ago. However I do see the good in almost everyone, and try my best to treat people with respect and kindness. There is an intellectual side to me which you will discover as we go along. Anyway enough about me , lets talk about you!
Who would I like to meet? Someone stable, sincere and available. I am quite open minded with regard to looks. Over the years I've dated a number of attractive and highly desirable women in my life, and what I've learned from those experiences is that a woman's good looks come in a distant second to their character. Don't get me wrong, I like an attractive woman as much as the next guy. Maybe more. But you have to be more than just good looking for us to have a chance.
To sum up, despite my share of disappointments in life and love , I remain an optimist , why else would I be here?
Finally I should be honest and mention that I do have a drinking problem , my gatorade addiction ;)

Date men and women from United States. A few years ago, after a decade or so in corporate America, I left for an extended, around-the-world sabbatical. Seven continents, fifteen countries, seven states and at least 10,000 photos. I saw lots of stuff and did lots of things.
I was harassed by possums in Australia, molested by monkeys in Cambodia, inspected by penguins in Antarctica, and had my leg bitten by panda in Chengdu. Thankfully, he spit me out.
I met different people anywhere I went and, remarkably, some of the same people almost everywhere I went. I shared beers and stories with a Viking, a thousand Canadians, a guy from my home town, and an Irish, break-dancing, spray-paint artist in Patagonia. I even met a dude with a microchip glued to the center of his forehead. I still don't know why.
I climbed a whole lot of rocks, fell off a few of them, learned how to Scuba dive, watched the sunset from a lot of places that I had seen only on TV. And occasionally, if I was lucky, I would see something somewhere that would put me right in touch with my soul.
I left to scratch a few dozen lines off of life's bucket list, and in that respect, was certainly successful.
Along the way, however, I realized that what I wanted most of all was simply someone to share those adventures with.
