Alright, about me... I moved here several years ago after five years in London and ended up sticking around. Seems to happen to a lot of people around here :-) I'm Canadian, so no English accent here, but I do a pretty good Jamie Oliver and Ali G, if that counts.
I'm pretty active and try to getting outside any chance I get (usually cycling or on the volleyball courts). I'm always up for new random experiences, which generally revolve around food (don't worry, I'm not one of those annoying picture taking yelping foodies), and I'm a notoriously spontaneous last minute traveler... Priceline and I are on a first name basis. I've been lucky enough to go on (and come back from) a lot of crazy trips over the years (Trans-Siberian railway, kayak expedition in Australia, Walmart on Black Friday, etc...), but aside from several overseas trips a year to see friends, I try (and often fail) to stay fairly local these days and enjoy all the fun stuff right here in our own backyard.
So... how about you? Ideally you're athletic, open minded (and opinionated!), you don't freak out at carbs, and when life gives you lemons, you break out the tequila.

Friends and family are very important to me, so spending time with them I is a priority for me. I love to be outdoors and often go for a bike ride or take out the motorcycle during the weekends. I also enjoy going to music concerts and traveling to new places. I am open-minded, very liberal in political view of the world. I'm easy going but yet a very dependable person.
I'm originally from Italy but have been in the US for a long time (over 20 years). I speak Italian with my family and I even have an Uncle Guido who lives in Sicily, but I don't fit the Italian stereotype as you can see from the pics.

Fairly good at:
I am quite good at not keeping the penny too close my eyes so as to not miss the dollar behind it. I mean that with regards to life-people and not money. I have been into playing a variety of sports since I was a little boy. I played tennis nationals and on most days I'm pretty darn good at golf.
I recently started doing Pilates and yoga. Trying to flex up my muscles for golf. If you can show me a thing or two, I'll be your biggest fan. Who knows? Maybe a yoga/pilates date.

While I’m driven to make the most of myself and be successful, people are often surprised to discover how down to earth I am. I don’t need a lot of material things to make me happy. I’m kind to others, generous, and faithful.
I’m really interested in foreign travel and learning other languages. I have lived and worked in Milan, Italy (been to every region except for Sicily). I have been to almost every country in Western Europe as well as to Mexico, Venezuela and Argentina (most recently). I would like to go to Brazil, Eastern Europe, Israel. Basically I’m interested in going anyplace I haven’t been yet. I try to be as active as possible and enjoy playing all types of sports: softball, baseball, golf, hunting/fishing, bowling, boxing, riding my bike, and working out at the gym. Of course it would be nice to meet someone that I can relate to. We share some common interests and enjoy doing similar activities. But I’m also open to trying new things. I am attracted to a generous and faithful woman who has a fun and sweet personality. She is family oriented. Physically I am drawn to a warm smile, bright eyes, nice skin, and a cute figure. I tend to believe that body language and idle conversation with someone new encountered on any given day trump our system here of winks, checkboxes, and cherry-picked profile pictures – you look incredible, by the way)). But these days, with alternatives like the Farmer’s Market as our outlet to meet up, how long can one really linger, squeezing melons, turning over tomatoes, and otherwise loitering before attracting the wrong kind of attention? How gauche that would be, men and women lurking amongst the produce! So, instead here we are…
But let’s pretend for a moment, that this was more…real – a real live encounter. There you are, a picture of poise with your reusable shopping bag, selecting heirloom string beans with a tuning fork, and there I am, similarly composed, trying in vain to figure out which end of the tear-off plastic bag is the one that opens. Naturally, you wink at me and then ask, “Are you successful, well traveled, open-minded with a positive outlook, and able to hold a conversation?” “And what’s your opinion on wine country?” And before I can get a word out, a finger appears instantly at your lips. “Shhh! Headline first. Then you talk.” Ummm. I look at my still impenetrable plastic bag for inspiration. “Safeway. Ingredients for life.” Cripes, that’s not going to get me too far. I’m also breathing through my mouth at this point. But I’m on the spot, your finger is motionless, eyebrows arched. My brain churns between that or…“Do the chickens have talons?”.
“Safeway. Ingredients for life!”, I proclaim with gusto.

And since you asked, I moved to San Francisco for a job this spring, having lived in Bali over the winter as well as traveled through other parts of Indonesia and Vietnam. I am tremendously fortunate in my career to finagle that kind of flexibility. Prior to my brief sabbatical, I’ve called Chicago and Boston home.
I’ve actually set out on quite a few trips to the corners of the world on my own with a camera, a surfboard, and never much of a plan, nor any choice but to make friends along the way. That’s my idea of a fun adventure – when you’re open enough to go with the flow and let something memorable happen, when you don’t drag a piece of home along with you, you perhaps discover something about yourself and the world. Having rented a house in Bali for three months, for the first time I felt more like a resident in a new culture than simply a traveler. Now that I’ve lived it, that lifestyle is completely accessible to me.
I’m immensely curious about the world around me, still maybe a bit of a nerd, and always comfortable spending time on my own. Yet I’m also very outgoing, but don’t need to be the center of attention in a group. I’d rather have a smaller circle of true friendships than be known superficially by everyone.
But enough about me, what about you? Honestly, the particulars don’t matter, but your spirit and outlook does.
Perhaps…you pack light. You appreciate bourbon, red wine, and sun dresses. You love to surf, you ski or snowboard with full abandon, and you think doing both on the same day could be something to aspire to. Maybe you mountain bike, or maybe it’s yoga. You have an eye to take a good photograph, and seek the details in things (a meal, a design, a piece of art or music) that make them outstanding. You’re incredibly curious and aren’t afraid to try and fail.
