I was born and raised in a small Kansas town which wasn't the end of the world, but you could see it from the front porch of our house. I had a typical Kansas childhood, cow~tipping, tractor pulls, making crop circles with my buddies on a Friday night. It was in college that I found my two passions ~ archeology and bartending. Unfortunately, archeology just isn't what it used to be when Indiana Jones was around. I discovered that (although they get to see a lot of truly remarkable places and things in their careers) you don't get to keep what you find, and you don't get to carry a whip and a pistol, so I pursued my second passion, which has led to life remarkable in and of itself.
I have been to some amazing places and met some truly remarkable people (who I am blessed to call my friends) on my way to where I am today. I have learned patience, kindness, and how to retain a youthful excitement for the world around me.
My career has bloomed into my own businesses that offer me challenges and rewards, and the time to enjoy life.
I'd love to meet someone that compliments me and helps me to stay young at heart and appreciate what a great place this world is. I grew up around some very strong willed women and love that trait in women. I also enjoy outgoing personalities. Not the type that have to be the center of attention, but are simply comfortable with themselves and honestly enjoy other people. Intelligence and ambition are also very appealing traits to me. Great conversation is a must.

I am outgoing, athletic, social, and like to play A LOT! I grew up in Toy Town USA (East Aurora, NY) and ironically now live in Ski Town USA (Steamboat Springs, CO), and enjoy all sorts of different experiences!! Wide open for anything new...hence my visit to this site. My norms are skiing, golf, snowshoeing, and diving. I LOVE live music and enjoy being just a little goofy. Good friends, whitewater rafting, camping, hiking, golfing, skiing, traveling and diving are definately in the recipe for a good time. Bucket list includes traveling to my my family hometown in Ireland, seeing Europe, South America, hiking a 14'er, skydiving, learn to play the piano again and learning to fly. My favorite thing to do is play/watch hockey...no doubt! I share season tickets to the Avalanche and enjoy the road trips to Denver to take it all in. Colorado is the place to be! Meet men and women from Steamboat Springs, United States. In describing myself, I would want you know that I am very comfortable with who I am. I have had a wonderful family life and I had a fantastic childhood. My dad is a gentleman, and my mom was an incredibly caring and giving woman. She passed away a few years ago. I am one of nine children, so holidays and other events were always a blast!
While I think the movie Jerry McGuire was a fun movie to watch, I don't totally believe in the scene where he says she completes him...I come complete in terms of being happy and want to share my happiness! If I ask you to make me happy, that immediately puts eternal pressure on you. Two people sharing their happiness is incredible, but one asking the other to make them happy is impossible. Maybe two people in love and expressing that fully helps us to know ourselves completely and experience oneness.
I enjoy being together and love to talk. I also like to be quiet, too...just to be together. I am fine being alone or alone with my dog..meaning that I am not needy or jealous. I am hoping for the same in return. I love kids and animals, and would always love for them to be part of the fun and conversation!
Last, I have been told over and over that I have a wonderful sense of humor and I love to make people laugh and smile. There is only one way to know...I hope you find out!

Meet people from Steamboat Springs, United States. Eighteen years ago I was on my way to Idaho in a 1976 Chevy Malibu station wagon (purchased for $1). I stopped in Steamboat Springs and have yet to make it to Idaho. I have lived here for the duration, with the exception of three years in which I traveled for research/grad school. I am very fortunate to have a job which takes me to some of Colorado's most beautiful locales. I was very fortunate to grow up in a large family, which along with my network of close friends, has provided amazing support, encouragement and great times.
Those who know me would describe me as a very caring, compassionate, and outgoing person, who very much enjoys the company of others, but also greatly appreciates solitude as well. A great deal of my appreciation comes from the work I do with those less fortunate. I get a great deal of satisfaction from putting a smile on the face of individuals with disabilities through participation in outdoor activities.
I have been described as a very independent and happy individual. I appreciate a bit of independence in my partner as well. I am looking for a stable, happy partner to share in outdoor adventures, someone to check out music/arts festivals with, someone to take me to places I have not been, someone to discover new places with, someone to challenge me both athletically and intellectually, someone who treats others with dignity and respect, and someone who appreciates me for who I am and not what they want me to be. Most of all I want to be with someone who makes me laugh and I her... I feel laughter is the foundation of good relationships! That person would also have to be able to cozy up next to the fireplace with a bottle of wine or cup of hot chocolate (with whipped cream of course)...ok, you can have coffee.
I have to admit that, while I have been to several amazing places, I have not traveled much abroad...I am a rookie! I might need a partner whom is well versed in international travel and doesn't mind a 'rookie' tagging along...remember I am quite fun. Ireland and New Zealand are at the top of the list currently.
Given that I am very close with, and spend much time with my large family, my partner would need to be comfortable in this environment. Shy, quiet women typically don't do so well around my siblings...especially at the dinner table.
I am surprised that I am doing this, and I don't know what to expect. I do expect to make many new friends through this venture at least... If something more significant comes of this… great.
