I've been in Steamboat for a little more than four years now, and while I love the town and our Rocky Mountain surroundings, I would like to find someone special to share this beautiful place with. A little bit about me; I'm 37 years old and a native Iowan. I moved to Steamboat Springs back in the summer of 2007, mainly due to my whole immediate family living here and that it was also time for me to move on from where I previously was. I work for a local well-know non-profit that works with adults with developmental disabilities. It's a good job and field to be in, although like with any job and field some days are better or worse than others. It is a full-time job for me, but one with some pretty non-traditional hours, definitely not a 9 to 5 job! When I'm not working I enjoy sports (and my fantasy football team, although I'm having a pretty crappy season so far), skiing (looking forward to the upcoming season), reading, certain TV shows, and working out. I've also just gotten involved with the local Pirate Theatre troupe and am in their current show and am really enjoying being on the stage again (I was a drama nerd in high school). As I mentioned before, I'm not much of a late-night bar guy anymore these days, but I do enjoy happy hour every once in a while.

Prior to that, Atlanta, Florida for about 4 years, Kansas City, Maryland, South Bend and California somewhere in there for 4 years. Los Angeles is calling me back. I'm the one that dads love & moms love to look at. KIDDING!!! No, seriously... I would have to say that the number one question asked upon me leaving the room is, 'Ok, HOW do you know him?' And the second question would be, 'And when are we all hanging out again??' I love my life which means I must protect my life. Therefore, no matter how many folks I know, only a select few know me. I work very hard to build and maintain relationships with people that I feel will reciprocate the same. On the same note, I have the ability to eliminate negativity out of my life without looking back. I'm a Sagittarius, what can I say. I am probably the easiest and hardest person to get along with. Of Which, either path selected I have found that most respect me either way. Interesting enough, if you ask those that love me and those that hate me the simple question of 'why?' both sets will respond with the same answer. I really only have two rules, of which, not only do I ask of others, but I also live by. #1 SAY WHAT YOU MEAN. #2 MEAN WHAT YOU SAY. It sounds so simple, but is it really? Direct communication is of the utmost importance, yet it seems as the generations go on people are either taught or realize that feeding people what they want to hear and hearing what people want to feed you is a much easier way of life. Lucky for me (or is it unfortunately?) I wasn't born capable of subscribing to easy. So, before you ask, I'm not searching for Ms. Right, but just in case you REALLY think you're her let me help you out with a few key points. 1. It is mandatory that you have the ability to use grammar and spell correctly 2. Avid readers and well educated ladies are preferred 3. To the girl who keeps messaging me about posing in the nude, GET A LIFE! 4. I have more female friends than male so if this is an issue keep moving. I often get asked why I keep myself so public. Well, I don't feel as if I have anything in life to hide. Now, this being said people usually follow up to learn a little more about me. Just checking out this stuff here for the fun of it and perhaps to expand my horizons with regard to the human beings out there to meet, learn from and enjoy. By saying that I've lived everywhere and done everything, I mean that I've been a seeker for the first 40-or-so years of my life. Turning over all the rocks I could find to learn what I may discover underneath. And from it all I continuously find myself right back where I started. Interesting, huh? And yet I still feel an urge to seek because I find that wherever I may be continues to elude my understanding. So I just say "whatever" and do what feels good. It seems that the best feelings come from good times with good people and so that's why I'm looking around this site here.
I live in a ski town and I don't really ski. I love music but I'm not a musician, I'm a DJ - a music selector. My favorite music styles are the roots-best of classical, techno, house and ambient. I more or less enjoy the various reggae styles and some rock is all right - but ego-driven music turns me off immediately. I have a degree in journalism and I've done a whole lot of writing (mostly music journalism), but I'm not a writer. I've read lots of books including many of the supposedly major works, but I'm not a reader. I have learned healing skills but I'm not a healer. I've explored spirituality to the furthest limits to which I have been able, but I'm not really all that "spiritual," whatever that means. I love my nephews but have no desire for children of my own.
I like wide open spaces and mountains. I like silence. I like good food made with good ingredients and good vibes. I'm a lover, not a fighter. I like walking through the woods in the summer and snowshoeing through the woods in winter. I'm not athletic, but I like to be healthy. I like feeling good and bringing good feelings to others.

I got a job with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management about 6 month after I graduated, which in this job market was amazing. Living in Colorado and doing the job I do, outdoor activities are huge part of my life. Whitewater kayaking is the standout as my favorite activity.
