I visited Colorado for the first time in August 2009. I can't say I immediately fell in love with it, but I needed a change in my life, and I was looking for a bit of adventure. So within a few months, I had quit my job, said goodbye to all my friends and family back in Connecticut, and had driven 2000 miles across the country to start a new life here. It was definitely the most spontaneous and life-changing thing I had ever done, but so far, it's also been one of the best things I've ever done. I only regret not doing it sooner.
Now I spend my days slinging code as a senior systems engineer at a certain internet company that you know and love (ask me which one), and I spend my free time skateboarding, snowboarding, and exploring the mountains. I'm basically living the life I dreamed of when I was a kid, since I finally have the money and freedom to do so. It's fun!
At this point in my life, I've already accomplished more than I ever thought possible (and I have no doubts about how impressed you'd be if you knew the extent of that). My biggest challenge now is figuring out what to do next.
