Having lived and taught in Iowa, Illinois, and Pennsylvania, I grew to dislike the cold and snowy winters....so, in 1988 I moved to Sacramento to be closer to family and farther from undesirable weather! I continued teaching and retired in 2003.
Since retiring I have enjoyed traveling. I love the sun and the ocean, thus trips to Hawaii and Cabo San Lucus. The past 2 years I broadened my horizon with trips to London and Paris, and a riverboat trip down the Danube. Italy seems to be my next destination.
I enjoy my friends and value my family but would like to include someone who likes to travel and explore new places - someone who lives a healthy lifestyle and wants to continue to get more out of life.

If you want to see me smile big, it would be because I had a airline ticket in my hand for a big trip. That seems to be my biggest passion in life. I've done a lot over the last 40 some years and I never get enough. I was fortunate to have been in Europe for half a year and Mexico one year. And even now I'm looking forward to doing some more but with a mate to share. In Mexico I had the joy of doing some modeling and teaching English. I was also a nurse for 15 yrs but left as it became to big of a business. I did a lot of trauma unit areas like burn and ICU. But my favorite was psychiatry, but I currently love alternative med. for myself and to read about. I presently do skin care and am an Esthetician. I think I'm hard wired to serve but do it better when I'm appreciated. I love making people feel relaxed and beautiful.
Another place to find me is at the yoga studio. I'm committed to touching my toes. I stopped for a year, what a mistake. I eat vegetarian but will eat fish. I'm healthy and I owe it to what I eat and my exercise
I plan to live long and just living long is not very pleasant if your not healthy, strong and well. I also tend to live simply, want to be a minimalist.
My roots are from Isle Of Mann and Germany. Isle Of Mann is a small Island between Ireland and England. I've visited twice, it's very Celtic. Can almost hear the Celtic bag pipes. My favorite music is "World" music. Anything from another country is music that takes me away.
I love my family and grand kids. Family is everything. Lately have been ushering with my 16 yr Granddaughter. Love to see plays of all kind. Especially local theater.
I'm not much into sports but am open to enjoying things that my mate is in love with. I'm game to try new things. I so love to swim and snorkel and would love to take scuba lessons.
I'm not very political but I do enjoy looking behind the scenes to see what some of the mysteries are. Its not what is seems, lots of smoke and mirrors. I'm not religious but do attend the church in my heart and am spiritual. If I had to choose a religion it would probably be Buddisim because they teach you how to control your own life.
I also enjoy the Enneagram and enjoy studying it. Like to understand others and this is a great tool.
What do I want in a mate.
I want a guy that is open to trying new things, has a great sense of humor and can laugh at himself, and can smile a lot. A smile can always melt me. It's important to have a twinkle in your wrinkle. And since traveling is my passion, I would love him to love it too. Not the cruise traveling or RV, not that I wouldn't do that, but some traveling to meet people and explore other cultures. I've been married twice and have learned a lot from them. I've learned to be a better person and love myself in the process.

One of those nights when you can't stop talking and chemistry is in the air and it's feeling right to both. And this could take place anywhere. I do love fine dinning and I have to admit, I love French Food. But there is nothing local. So Thai is my first choice after that.
