For the first 18 years of my life, home was a log cabin in the Pacific Northwest where the only heat came from the wood you chopped. Running water was dependent on a beautifully designed, yet somewhat troublesome system of pumps and pipes my father built. Electricity wasn't something you took for granted and it certainly wasn't something you depended on. Just getting to the house took skill, being as it was a quarter-mile dirt road only passable by 4x4 vehicles and was frequently washed out.
However, I am still a very lucky person. To have had the opportunity in this day and age to grow up in such an environment was priceless. It shaped who I am today; a hardworking gal who is certainly not afraid to get her hands dirty (and actually prefers it!), and is particularly adept to rolling with the punches. Now that I live in Silicon Valley where heat turns on with the press of a button, I am currently focused on finding my path through life. I have a full time job that pays the bills, but I'm still searching for a career I can feel passionate about. What to do with my free time, however, is not something I am unclear about. I'm the kind of person where if it is physical and outside, I'm probably game. Growing up in a family with two older, crazy, outdoor-junkie brothers, it was bound to happen! I find it really important that my partner in crime also enjoys outdoor adventures. Whether it is playing soccer or backpacking through Thailand, you better be up for anything :) Better yet, if you can challenge me mentally and physically to overcome new obstacles, you get bonus points!
I don't want to create a false impression here. I'm certainly not always a fireball of energy looking for my next dose of adrenaline! I am all about the quiet evenings reading or watering the garden. I'm just looking for someone who shares my drive to have a healthy amount of activity in their life... Someone who understands life can be rough, but nothing isn't fixable with a ride around Arastradero.
