So, it's not surprising that I still enjoy traveling. Since I recently retired, I'm lucky enough to be able to do more of that and have decided that although travel abroad is great fun, travel in the US is even better....and doesn't require long airplane rides coming home, which is the worst!
If you enjoy travel, sports (mostly watching nowadays), movies, plays, concerts, and great conversation, you're my kind of person! I'm a beginner when it comes to golf, but enjoy trying and although I played on an adult soccer team some years ago, I don't play any more...when it started taking too long to recuperate from those bumps, bruises, aches and pains, I decided that was it. I'm pretty independent but appreciate gallantry in a man.....in other words, I don't mind sharing expenses on a date but I also like to have doors opened for me and compliments paid to me. Guess I skipped the women's liberation movement but want the benefits that came out of that. I believe good relationships take time to develop and am willing to put in the time to make that happen.
Now that I've described a little about myself, what am I looking for in a relationship? A sense of humor is paramount for me, along with intelligence....not Einstein of course since I'm not in that league myself, but certainly someone who can carry on a good conversation and is interested in the world around him. I know everyone says those things and then turns around and picks the Brad Pitt types, but honestly those are my top two qualities. Being attractive just adds to the package....and being taller than 5'6"" ties it all up in a big bow.
I think a great first date would involve dinner or maybe just meeting for drinks/coffee and seeing if there's any chemistry. And although I like technology, there's only so much you can really get from reading a Match.com profile.
I value honesty, a sense of humor, good conversations, a willingness to try new things, and someone who likes spending time at home as well as going out.
