I am an extremely active person. I go to the gym at least 5 times a week. I love doing anything in the outdoors, like camping, hiking, trail running, climbing, etc... During my short time in Idaho, I tried snowboarding and absolutely loved it! I plan on snowboarding as much as possible every winter :D. I also love to travel. I have driven to most parts of this country with the exception of the northeast. Outside of the US, I have been to Japan, Australia, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia (Bali), Malaysia, and Singapore.
I would like to think of myself as being an intelligent, kind-hearted, open-minded person (let's not forget goofy also). Many people have called me a "people person." I get along with most people I meet. I have a somewhat diverse background, from serving in the Marine Corps to having a degree in Physics. I love trying new things. I normally excel at most things I try. I would almost consider myself a polymath, but would never put myself with the likes of Newton or daVinci. I am willing to try anything at least once, but honestly, it isn't what you try, it's with whom you try them with. If you're the right woman, there isn't much I am not willing to go do with you. I listen to most types of music, but I prefer Country. When I am in the gym, I'll probably be listening to some ACDC or Metallica.
Don't get me wrong, as active as I may try to be, I love a quiet night at home also...or sleeping in till noon.
What I don't do: I don't drink and I don't smoke. Keep in mind, though, that because I choose not to do either of these things, I don't expect you, or anyone else for that matter, to not do them. We each set our own standards we live by and I respect this. I don't watch sports, but I have no problems playing them. I don't do bars or clubs. I normally don't watch TV unless House or Fringe is on.
About you:
You should be someone that will be by my side no matter what I choose to do in life, be it snowboarding in the backcountry slopes of the Tetons, hiking the Appalachian trail, in the kitchen learning to cook, or just lying on the sofa watching a movie; just like I would be by your side as you venture through your life. If i'm doing something active, it's usually done at a fast pace, so it would be nice if you can keep up with me :P. I'm not going to go into too much more detail here. I like complex people who like to keep things simple. They have great ideas, but don't need their guy to be entertainment, but actually want a relationship based on among other things actually getting to know each other. So expression is something I notice. Whether it's how you tilt you head when you're absorbed with curiosity, place hands on your hips and fixate you eyes when you say think "What?!" or whatever quirky non-verbal expressions you make and word choices you make I'm going to be paying attention. I love love love to read and share ideas. I was a teacher for 7 years, and I love the whole sense of being a life time learner, and with my faith, omgoodness, as I write this I know I have so much to learn. Faith is humbling. Not that you are confused, but sometimes I forget that in the business of knowing what is what I'm not actually God. Life surprises surely. Go figure. Humility. God uses it. I know. :)
I'm a dad and I totally love my babies, translation children two daughters 13 and 11 and a son 14. My babies, most wonderful children live with me during the week and with their momma on the weekends. Momma and me are cool, and dare I say she'd hope to be good friends with the woman I marry. If you're a secure woman you should be good.
I don't introduce my children to whom I'm dating, meeting, or whatever you want to call it, unless I were getting to a place were this was significantly more than dating, My goal hears is to only introduce my children to the woman I'll marry. That may not work out, but that is my hope and intent. Need to protect my little people you know.
