Date women from United States / Arkansas / Oakland, 36 year old

Date someone special from Oakland, United States. Bismilllah. Welcome to my introduction! I am in a sincere search for my sweetheart that will lead to a marriage that supports and nourishes our physical, spiritual and emotional needs.
Lifestyle: My daily life is a balance of studying, exercise, eating healthy, working as a massage therapist. When I was in my 20s I went to a whole foods culinary arts program and worked for years in restaurants, catering companies and private homes as a chef. I really enjoy cooking and eating out – mostly at authentic ethnic restaurants and farmer’s markets. I do not drink alcohol and desire a partner that does not drink either.
I also love to exercise and get outdoors, and make this happen at least 4 or 5 times a week. I practice ashtanga yoga and jujitsu swim, cycle, run, and hike. I also love to camp, kayak and sail.
To relax, I enjoy reading, taking a nature walk, cooking and visiting friends. I love experiences that expose my to new cultures. (I donРІР‚в„ўt watch TV.)
Personality:
I am naturally a giving, nurturing and passionate person and I feel the most fulfilled when I have someone whom I can express these attributes with. I am also a very affectionate person. People always tell me I have a very calming presence and I agree, I do not easily get upset or visibly stressed – but I do have a lot of internal energy and this is where all my active nature comes from. I have never been called lazy but more often my friends and family wonder when I will stop to trying to learn more and do more! I am also a deep thinker, more of an introvert than an extrovert and enjoy groups of two or three people rather than large gatherings. This is because I appreciate intimacy and giving people attention when in conversation. I possess a high level of organization mixed with creativity and my home is always clean, warm and welcoming.
My hopes for the future: I would like to have children and raise them to be beautiful, smart and strong – independent thinkers who are not easily swayed by media and trends in culture (negative influences). I would like to travel more in the world and apply my skills to work/volunteer projects that serve people who are less fortunate. I hope to finish my master’s degree in environmental studies and get my science teaching credential by the end of 2012 (I almost there!) I hope to always nourish on my spiritual path and be joined by a life partner who has a similar view and dreams.
My Islam: I converted to Sunni Islam three years ago and still continue to grow and learn in my deen. My original attraction to Islam came from its principles of social justice and environmental ethics – meaning that humans are responsible for caring for this Earth that God gave to us, and we are not meant to abuse it. I am active in my practice but I do not wear a headscarf. I feel my internal growth is much more important than looking the part I strive to guard my speech, limit judgment of others, and practice contentment with whatever God gives me, whether trials or joys.
I am looking for an educated, grounded, responsible and healthy man to share the rest of this life with me.I do not expect perfection and seek to find someone who loves me as I am in this moment and I can attest to the same about him. He would be financially secure and ready to have a family,or perhaps he has children and might be open to one or two more. He has healthy habits or a sincere desire to achieve them.He loves nature -this means getting out of the car to experience it!–and would be happy to join my to walk to the top of a mountain or along the coast.I have more I can tell you but Match is limiting me!

Meet a soulmate from Oakland, United States. I'm smart and independent. I like to read, go hiking, see movies, and music. Date a woman from Oakland, United States. The last vacation I took I pulled the destination out of a hat, only criteria was white sand beaches. I work pretty hard in the auto industry and have been with the same company for a long time.
I enjoy spending time with my family and close friends. Not to mention spoiling my 2 year old niece, she can make anyone smile. I grew up in the Bay Area and went to school in the mid west, go figure. I was looking for a change and loved snow, but didn't realize that it would be freezing and no snow, but it didn't stop me from playing college sports in the old school Big 12. I play golf and am trying to pick up tennis. I love being outdoors and enjoy active people. Don't get me wrong I am always up for movie night too.
My friends would describe me as funny and even when I am not trying, easy going and always planning my next getaway.
I am looking for someone who's active and adventurous, a storyteller who will match my sense of humor and sharp whit. I'm hoping to find a kind, tall, strong man who values family and friends. Educated men preferred. I'm not here for hook ups, I'm here to find someone.

Date a soulmate from Arkansas, United States. I am a 36 year old woman who is looking for a BLACK man who is young at heart but definitely knows how to handle business. I am fun loving, have a great sense of humor, artsy, and would like to find a man who shares those qualities. My ideal new friend will be a creative person with eclectic taste. He will be intelligent, a great conversationalist and adore all of my silly, nerdy, qwerks.
I love vintage clothing and jewelry, am a hat ADDICT and love watching cartoons, old movies and reading comic books.
I love to travel and am determined to visit every continent on earth before I hit 40 so someone who is comfortable exploring the world is a must. I am a people person and super friendly. I would love to find someone who is a compliment to my unique and up beat personality.
I'm a computer geek by day but I am a photographer at heart. I stay busy hanging with my parents (together for 38 years), visiting galleries with friends, trying new restaurants or attempting to organize my crazy photo archive. I lead a pretty active life so I hope to find someone who is also active and has his own interests in addition to the interest that we may share.

Meet a woman from Arkansas, United States. I'm an East Coast transplant originally from Harlem, NY; which for all you West Coasters means...I'm a total pizza snob! I moved to LA right out of college and made my way to the Bay Area about 4 years ago. I am an Executive Assistant/Event Planner at a small Technology company, currently working towards two certificates; one in Web Development the other in Web Design. The right side of my brain craves an outlet so I'm up for anything artistic and creative like taking an art class, going to see a play, or to the museum and occasionally when inspiration hits I write, these days it's mostly poetry but I'd like to get back into writing fiction. I will admit however that I am not much of a music person. Let's just say that the first and last concert I went to was New Edition and no not the revival tour. And when it comes to movies I prefer two completely different genres. I'm either watching a romantic-comedy like Knocked Up or a horror/thriller, Midnight Meat Train is my current favorite.
I'm a pretty laid back individual and on most days I'm in jeans, a t-shirt and Keds. I love word puzzles, especially Jumble and CodeWords but I'm passionate about books and I'll just come right out and say it; Barnes and Noble is my happy place. I'll give any recommended book a read, but I mostly read fiction. My favorites are by Jodi Picoult and Lisa Scottoline, because I find fiction based on controversial events thought provoking.
To answer my own tagline question, if I could choose any actress to play me in the movie of my life, it would be Sanaa Lathan. Like me she's lived in NY and LA, majored in English, has a Theater background, works in the Entertainment Industry (past tense for me) and isn't afraid to try "Something New". How about you; who would play you in the movie of your life?
When it comes to my ideal partner; I'm looking for just that, a partner and a friend to share my life with. Someone who is as interested in my day as I am in theirs. Someone who wants to curl up on the couch and watch a movie one day but is adventurous enough to explore new areas of the city with me or try something new like climbing a rock wall, or travel to a foreign country. He would, like me, be honest, loyal and dependable and is someone who knows what he wants and goes after it. And of course, he should like to have a good time, laughter is the best medicine there is. If this sounds like you, email me.

Date someone special from United States. Independent, health-conscious artist/entrepreneur (textile business working with international artisans)/massage therapist seeking partner for adventure, laughter, and creative greatness (Sunday morning breakfasts, impromptu home improvement projects, exotic travel...). Grew up in Santa Rosa, lived in NJ/NYC/ Ithaca, NY for 8 years, have traveled extensively in Europe, lived in Paris for a year. I moved to SF in June '09 after 2 years in W. Sonoma County, and have now been in North Oakland for a year.
Looking for compassion, light-heartedness, depth, and feeling at home with someone who appreciates art/music/culture, has a city-smart/broader view of life and the world, loves nature, yearns for community, wants to grow as a person and never stop learning. Fantastic if you like to dance!
An online personality test described my traits (pretty accurately) as: Sees the big picture, Imaginative, Intuitive, Strong verbal skills, Empathetic, Trusting, Introspective, Creative, Flexible, Curious...
and that I'm looking for: "a mate who is daring, playful and adventurous, yet one who will balance [me]- someone who is calm, decisive, strong-willed, focused and supportive of [my] enthusiastic, caring and imaginative spirit." Sounds great!
I'm all for meeting in person right off the bat! Coffee or a glass of wine and a walk?

Meet a soulmate from United States. I've always thought I would be the first of my friends to get married and have kids, but I guess life is unpredictable sometimes. After being in several long committed relationships, I find myself coping with the single life & not liking it too much. Going out to lounges/bars with friends may be fun, but not an ideal place to meet someone I would consider spending the rest of my life with.
My friends have met great people via online dating (one recently got married to someone she met on match.com) and encouraged me to give it a try. The notion of online dating, while scary, allows me to filter someone to my liking & that's really appealing to me. So here I am! I'm really hoping to find that special someone to enjoy the simple things in life with: cuddling, sunsets, movie nights at home with a glass of wine, picnics, scenic drives to nowhere, traveling, trying out new food/restaurants.....
I simply love being in love.

Date a woman from United States. I'm a very active gal who loves mind-expanding experiences. I love learning about cultures around the world, still fantasize about being an astronaut, and find this universe to a very curious place. Spirituality is a big part of my life- that includes meditation and yoga on a regular basis.
I'm spontaneous but also yearn for structure. I run my own business (film/video production) and love it! Being an entrepreneur is challenging, but the 9-5 lifestyle is not for me. Documentaries are my big passion. I can be high energy when I'm focused on a particular project, but am always striving for work/life balance. Helping others as much as possible is not a platitude- it's a mission I try to fulfill.
I'm in love with the outdoors, dancing, seeing great films, exploring foreign places, drinking hordes of chai tea, and going to live shows (mostly indie and punk rock). I also enjoy riding my bike to the Farmer's market, meditating, doing yoga, and crafty projects.
It would be great if you appreciate everything DIY (if you need to look up the meaning of DIY- we're not a good match). Some future DIY projects we could conquer include: Kombucha, a miniature terrarium, and [insert your idea here].
I'm vegetarian- it's a personal choice that I don't push on anyone.
I'm pretty obsessed with all things design-related. If I wasn't into film, I'd probably pursue a career as an interior designer or, better yet, a Feng Shui consultant. Everything is energy!
I'm interested in meeting a great guy who can be a life partner/best friend. My ideal partner is equally in love with his life, challenges me because he's constantly challenging himself, is creative, has some kind of spiritual practice, adventurous, funny, probably somewhat nerdy/quirky. I'm interested in someone who takes an active role in fulfilling their deepest wishes. Someone who is smart, spiritual, strives for life balance, compassionate, adventurous, funny, and finds it easy to have a good time no matter what environment they are in. A traveller, a dancer, a music lover, a creator, a dreamer. Of course, I'm open to meeting new friends too. I would love to live by the beach one day- hrmm, Hawaii, anyone?
I value maturity, authenticity/honesty, mutual respect, and clear communication in relationships.
p.s. If you don't have a photo, please don't expect a response. Also, please be within my age range. I prefer emails over winks.

. I’m good hearted, have a sense of humor, very passionate (a little spicy, I guess it’s the Latin in me, haha!) and affectionate. I’m looking to meet someone that I connect with on a deeper level and who can reciprocate. No expectations – whether I make a new friend, something more, or not. I believe every relationship starts with friendship then we'll see what happens, no pressure, who knows, it just might lead to more ;-).
I have a very strong work ethic, thanks to my wonderful parents. I come from a very traditional Latin family. I try to balance hard working weekdays with weekend adventure and /or relaxation. I enjoy family time and every once in a while a fun night in town with friends. The only way to truly get to know me…is talking to me, meeting me, so don’t be shy
