If you want someone who pays attention to himself and you, I am very good at that. I don't have hair growing out of unwanted places. My shoes are always polished and look good (and they are very good shoes). My work clothes are drycleaned and my weekend clothes are never worn twice but may include a "T-shirt' and jeans. My fingernails are always trimmed and clean. Man grooming is important. Who said men have to be like apes! No, I am not a nut about cleanliness. I just pay attention.
I workout (hard) 4-5 days a week, 2 hours a day, so I am in the best condition I have been in since highschool.
Adventure is not just something I say I want to do: I have driven trains (yes, trains! Those 9000 ton things that stop you at railroad crossings), I fly planes (piloted jets too, as the pilot, not the co-pilot), I snow ski (and have the scars to prove it), mountain bike, scuba dive, sailed throughout the Sea of Cortez, boated, travel a lot, shaken the hands of vice-presidents and lots and lots of legislators, and more and more. Grass does not grow under these feet, but, I like the times when I can watch the grass grow too.

I am a nature lover and greatly appreciate other cultures. I lived several years in the 80s-90s in Japan (teaching English and studying Japanese) and about 18 months from 2002-04 in south India (doing research on child labor).
I have to this point lived my life organically, seeking out interesting and exciting ways of living (for example, in mid-life I did a lot of traveling in Asia and returned to school to earn a PhD as a medical anthropologist). I think that has made me a more interesting, fun, and, hopefully, compassionate person with whom to spend time and build a relationship. I look forward to sharing interesting conversations and an active life with an intelligent woman who also cares about what happens in the world, isi refelctive and creative about how she lives her life, and tries to find and share some humor each day. And don't be surprised if I have a beer before 10:00 am on saturdays or vacations, or if I make you a bloody mary and bring it to you while your in bed. I will also make breakfast-lunch and dinner, but when it's time to go explore I will want you by my side. So I just had breakfast for dinner, how great is that? I used to make fluffies or pancakes for the boys every sunday and then they started wanting them at night, that just seems to be the way tradiations in the family happen. Kind of like mom's potroast on sundays, ( it was always burned) Anyway if their is a woman out there that likes breakfast for dinner or a bloodymary in the morning please write me, . I would love to hear from you, . The heat of summer is almost over and the fall is the time for romance, no one wants to spend the holidays alone anymore if we can help it. P
