What is supposed to be here is some detailed description of who I am...according to the greatest "expert" in the field....namely, me. As if any of us know ourselves so well that we can describe who we are in a few sentences. I say good luck to those who are so self aware. Physically, I suppose it is easy to describe myself. I am 6'3", brown eyes and hair, on the slender side. I am a teacher...it is who I am, not what I do. I feel fortunate to have found my "calling", as frustrating (and low paying) as it may be. Money talks....mine says "goodbye". It's all good, though....I am a leftover child of the 60's....one of those who thought we could change the world if we were willing to make the necessary sacrifices. Some things are worth believing in...even if they may not be true. I am a student..... a lifelong learner who is in awe of the Universe and seeks connections between what is known and what is yet to be known. I love to read, discuss, argue (in the philosophical sense) and explore. I enjoy traveling (the best education) and have been lucky enough to do a bit of globetrotting....with more planned in the future. I know what curiousity did to the cat.....but I figure I am smarter than an animal that entertains itself by looking into an empty corner. I am artistic...although this is mainly in the musical realm. I have played guitar for over 30 years (blues to bluegrass), I sing and I write my own songs, as well as those from artists I admire. I made a living touring and playing in the 70's, and still have friends who do so. I can't paint, but enjoy paintings and drawings, and going to museums to see them. I am athletic...although, the older I become, the better I used to be. I still enjoy hiking around Tucson (see you on the trails) and am open to playing a variety of games and sports. I am sensual...I love sharing the pleasures of a firm hug, and warm kiss, cuddling on a rainy night, and the passion of the bedroom. I give a pretty mean massage. I enjoy cooking and eating good food, fine wine, and an occasional beer or shot of tequila. I am a father. I have sired four sons and a daughter who died when she was a month old. (I mention her out of respect for her memory, not for sympathy). I think all my sons are good human beings, all in all. I have hopes that they all will grow to realize their potentials and find a place in the world. Since music is one of my greatest pleasures, I’ll expand a bit. I am always exploring new genres. My taste typically runs to World, Classical, Alternative, Latin, Reggae, Techno, Folk, Funk, Jazz, Celtic, New Age, and Soft Rock, with just a taste of Country/ Blue Grass. I find that my tolerance for Hard Rock, Heavy Metal and the like wanes as my interests expand.
Movies? I love Mysteries, Drama, a good Comedy (my definition of good one is pretty narrow), and can tolerate a good romance on occasion as well.
I am very loyal to friends and family, and I like to share the status and other perquisites my work has bestowed on me with those who are close to me.
