I love Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium and lived in all three places at various times over the span of about 12 years. I appreciate the history and beauty of different cultures and the interesting people I met on my quests. I'm not sure even now what I was looking for but I saw much and feel fortunate to have been able to have experienced those wandering years. When I retire, I'm sure I'll revisit and check out my old haunts but for now, I'm happy to not be on ten hour plane trips.
I'm on a Sabbatical from work with visions of Hawaii in less than a month. I'll figure out my plans once I take a nice, long six months off. Investments do pay off even in this suck stock market :). I grew my version of a garden this year ( three squash, five snap peas, one cucumber and probably five tomatoes). You have to start somewhere. I figure I'll double my crop next year and have a salad. I'm not into extreme sports but I can dig two limits of razor clams in under an hour and can clean them too (my brother made me do that myself this year). I like to fish from the banks or a dock but have never been able to get my mind to not make my stomach revolt in rolling waves on the wide open water (much to my big brother's dismay). I like campfires and reading books. I like riding my bike when I feel like it and hang out with the geese at Creamers Field and the reindeer at UAF. Walking around the botanical gardens and just being quiet is my ticket to inner calm.
I have an off the wall sense of humor and have learned to never take myself too seriously. I love laughter and can be a homebody one week and road tripping the next.
That's all I can think of to say. I don't judge folks but if you're separated or married, it'll be a waste of time for both of us as that's a situation I won't put myself in.

Thats a good generic story of me I guess. My boys call me a nerd, but Im okay with that too. lol I will show a photo as needed, but it feels weird to have it showing out there all the time. :)
I bought a month of match a few months back and never pursued anything. I guess its weird for me to do this, so who I am and what I wrote above is still true, however, I think just starting to meet new people and new friends is probably what I am ready for at this point. Friends only; no pressures; no worries :)
