I'm a Filipina Canadian American Librarian living in Anchorage who likes to watch movies, eat good food, have good conversation, and laugh a lot.
I am a total movie geek. My taste is pretty eclectic. I love independent films; my favorite independent movie is Girlfight. I grew up watching movies from the 40s, 50s, and 60s. As a result I love musicals and have mini-crushes on Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. Comedies (like Hamlet 2, Supertroopers, The Hangover, Hot Fuzz, and Other Guys), adventure/action(The Mummy, Fifth Element, and Willow), romantic comedies (The Holiday, She's the Man, and Just like Heaven) are a few other genres I enjoy. Horror films give me nightmares. But if it looks like a good movie, it's worth it ;) Bloods and guts movie... yuck! I'm always down for a good documentary. Sometimes real life is more amazing than real life. (Reality TV on the other hand are horrible psychology experiments!) Needless to say, Bear Tooth is one of my favorite places in town. I also love theater and try to catch the latest and greatest at Cyrano's.
Another thing you may notice about my pictures is that I look younger than I am. I can't help it! As my auntie said, "I have a youngish face!" (I just think she's bitter because she spends so much money on anti-aging creams.) I do have a youthful spirit, but I also have a serious side too. I'm a librarian and believe public libraries are important. I'm active in the community, volunteering my time and skills. I'm also the oldest of four siblings resulting in highly developed sense of responsibility, a significant amount of patience, and an accurate BS meter ;)
As for what I'm looking for? I want someone who can spend the night at home watching movies or likes to go out with friends or explore Alaska. I'm relatively new to Alaska and there is so much that I haven't seen and want to do. For example, what does the Aurora Borealis look like? What does minus 50 feel like? Can I outrun a polar bear if I really needed too? (Probably not...) It would be wonderful to meet someone sweet, silly, smart, fun, and outgoing. In all honesty, it would be great to just meet some new people. It's hard to meet new people in Anchorage and I am always happy to make a new friend.
