Most of my days are spent trying to make a difference in the lives of others. Currently this means working with my team members and helping them develop to their fullest potential. This is one of the many things that bring joy to my life. I'm not a workaholic by any means, but I am passionate about what I do. My spare time is usually spent with my family or working on my house. I own a 55 year old bungalow in Five Points that is an ongoing project. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty and I enjoy the satisfaction of home renovation, but I'm not sure I will be so ambitious with my next house. :-)
I have three cool nephews and a sweet niece who I adore! It's not unusual to find me playing "choo choos" (as my 2-year-old twin nephews call trains), battling in a game of Lego Star Wars (when my oldest nephew doesn't get frustrated with my gaming abilities or lack thereof), or painting my niece's nails. They have a wonderful way of helping me see things from a different perspective, so I try to spend as much time with them as possible. Although I haven't been blessed with children of my own, if you have kids, I consider that a plus!
My faith is important to me and I pray daily for God's guidance in my life. I grew up in a small Baptist church, but don't currently attend on a regular basis. I am actively seeking a church home, so maybe that's something we can explore together.
My friends might describe me as generous, intelligent, caring, and independent. I am most at home while spending time with family and friends, playing in the park with my niece and nephews, and gathering for a backyard barbecue. I also enjoy going out to dinner, discovering new places, seeing movies, and listening to live music (but I'm not into the bar/club scene).
