Date someone special from Riverside, United States. How do I sum myself up in a box? Hmmmmm........well I am an easy person to get to know because disclosure comes naturally. I tend to be more "left brained" than "right brained" if that actually has any validity. I am a So Cal native, but have strong roots to the Midwest. Meaning I hold traditional values, but am progressive in thought. I enjoy cerebral activities as much as sensual indulgences.............. basically I try to strike a balance in many things.
I am currently a high school teacher and think that education is absolutely invaluable. I truly believe that it is never too late to learn something new. I most definitely think that in the general sense of the word "learn" and in the sense of personal understanding. The ability to get in touch with your inner feelings and articulating those feelings is paramount. Maturity in individuals is most definitely shown in this ability.
I love laughing, as most people do, but seriously I am intensely drawn to the ridiculous. I think that Eddie Izzard is absolute comic genius. And I can't say enough about the awesome stupidity of Will Ferrell's raunchy humor. I tend to be quick witted, sharp tongued and sarcastic so I hope you can keep up. ;) While I can be a very serious person, I most certainly don't take myself or life in general too seriously. It's all too short not to have fun! I consider myself a kid-at-heart, I'm not afraid to look silly and am looking for someone who is secure in this regard as well. If we can't laugh at ourselves then it's no fun!
On the flip side, I value true maturity in myself and others. I enjoy traveling and experiencing new places; I find the diversity of the natural and cultural world fascinating. Whether it's site seeing, listening to language, or tasting foods, diversity is important to me. I am attracted to people who are open-minded, cultured, and progressive so that we have common ground to share. As of late, I have been tyring my hand at photography and hiking. I also enjoy taking my dog out to a park or for a walk so if you have a dog too that would be great.
Of course I am looking for a partnership based on mutual attraction, as is everyone, but equally important I am looking for a secure and stable man. I am also looking for someone who is both intelligent and confident, yet still retains humility. Arrogance is one of the biggest turn offs ever! I think that kindness, compassion, and loyalty are the most important qualities a person can possess. I am at a secure place in my life, both personally and professionally, and I would like to meet someone who is at a similar place in his life as well.
P.S. As I read this, I realize that my profile comes across so serious and dry and it's not meant to. I really am light hearted and fun, but I'm so used to writing for professional reasons (AP teacher "talk") it's hard to get out of that habit. It's so hard to convey myself in this type of a venue. Fluid dialogue virtually or in person is so much better in order to gauge one's personality. You may just be shocked at how this seemingly refined woman can keep up with "the guys" in banter. LOL

I'm a romantic I have to say, and I would like to meet someone who's the same in that sense. I have a wonderful family who I love spending time with and we always have a fun time together. As for me.. I love to have fun, . I enjoy listening to music, dancing, let's see...I enjoy going to lounges, sports bars, watching football, socializing with friends or meeting new people is always fun.
Friends describe me as having a great sense of humor, I love to laugh , can be witty with a hint of sarcasm... I can laugh at myself..that's where confidence comes in, I am comfortable in my own skin and love to get dressed up when the occasion calls for it, otherwise most times you will find me in jeans and a t shirt. I love the outdoors, camping is not a scary thing for me. I don't mind getting dirty ;) .
I definitely have the travel bug, I have had it since I was a kid. I recently went to Hawaii for the third time, of course it never gets old. I try to plan something at least once a year.
I do have a son he is 13 and is a pretty awesome kid! He loves to travel as well.
I have some college under my belt, finishing school is a goal of mine. I do work out, trying to be more fit, so, I try to get a workout in at least 3 times a week, wasn't always this way but it is now.
What am I looking for or hoping to find in a person? Someone with similar interests, great sense of humor, laid back, assertive, someone capable of compromise. Shows a mutual love and respect for the other person. Someone I can just be myself around. :)
