I'm a mother, office administrator, and writer/book blogger. Most of my hobbies include my kids--I coach youth basketball & soccer, love visiting museums, theme parks, being outside.
I enjoy an active lifestyle and I'm looking to meet someone with an equal zest for life. My ideal date will love kids, be gainfully employed, love to laugh and have his own set of interests that he can't wait to share with me.
A few other things about me:
1.) I prefer neat over cluttered. I'm not talking OCD levels of cleanliness, but I make up in housekeeping what I lack as a chef.
2.) I subscribe to National Geographic, Southern Living, and Sports Illustrated magazines so that visitors will think me diverse and in-the-know about all things from solar super storms to blackberry cobbler and the NBA playoffs, but the only magazine that I read cover to cover is Entertainment Weekly--partly because of their book and movie reviews and partly to gawk at the trashiness of the likes of Snooki & all those Kardashians.
3.) The last book I read was "Fried Zombie Dee-light!". An interview with its author landed me the opportunity to write an article on science fiction and fantasy for a book publisher's website. It was a dee-lightful experience.
4.) I am ALL ABOUT the current zombie craze and have even presented programs to teens about zombie awareness/survival at my local university and public library. All in fun. I don't believe there will ever be a real zombie plague--but, if there is, I AM this area's most prepared future survivor!
5.) The last concert I attended was Alison Krauss & Union Station April '12. Zombies and Bluegrass. Guess I am diverse afterall. Time to cancel all those dang magazine subscriptions!
6.) I make a cup of coffee every day to drink at my desk and sometimes never take a sip of it. I think the idea of drinking coffee is more appealing than actually consuming it. The same is true for me when it comes to wine.
7.) Something I know how to do that I wish I didn't: replace the belt on a Cub Caddet lawn mower. (Sadly, I can also replace the pull chord on a weed eater.)
8.) Something I wish I did know how to do but don't: play the fiddle. Sent my kids to violin lessons for a year in order to live vicariously through them, but they gave it up before even learning a single chord of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." Kids these days!
