I love adventure....but for me grocery shopping can be an adventure. :) I am the type of girl that likes almost anything. I enjoy bike riding, hiking, kayaking, camping, running, rafting, movies, sewing, shopping, plays, museums, painting, crafts, yard work, almost anything but cleaning floors. :) I mentioned that because for some reason I don't mind cleaning anything but the floors. :)
I am a diverse kind of girl. One day I am in regular street clothes sitting in the floor playing with kids at work, later that night I am dressed up in a formal cocktail dress for an evening event and then next morning, I am falling in a mud puddle while hiking and slipping on a wet rock, then finish the hike covered in mud, later in the day I am in a suit teaching a criminology class on campus, later that night I am at a concert for a local band, and then I end the day in comfy PJs watching a movie, just to get up the next morning to go fishing with my dad and do yard work. (true story from a couple months ago) What can I say.... I like to stay busy and I am a bit clumsy.
I am new to Huntsville as I moved here a few months ago for work. I am in the criminal justice field specializing in child abuse. I occasionally have to work late but all I can say about that is "there is nothing going on in my life that is more important and traumatic than what this child just endured". Therefore, if abuse is just reported and I have to work late, I am not going to complain. And I am looking for someone who respects/understands that work occasionally will take away my free time. Someone doesn't join this field because of the 9-5 hours, you join this field to help the kiddos. That is what I love about it! But don't worry, I also like to have fun and not think about work.

I guess that's also my philosophy on life...don't take it too seriously. Don't get me wrong, my career and all that jazz is important, and I'm not some hippie, but I've learned that trying to make your life follow some preordained plan is just not worth it. Live, have fun and take life as it comes. If that means you get all the traditional stuff like the 2.5 kids, great. If not, c'est la vie!
I'd like to meet an interesting, funny, intelligent, geeky and (I cringe even using this cliche but it fits...) laid-back guy. Someone to have fun with really. Someone I can curl up and watch ridiculous sci-fi TV shows with all day or go off and find adventures in this bustling metropolis of HSV. I am, my mother's daughter. I love the beach, the way fabric softener smells, good movies, good friends, and good times. As much as I love THOSE things, I love music more. Writing is another passion of mine.
I don't sleep on pillows...in fact, I don't even sleep in my own bed, I prefer my red couch, which I've affectionately dubbed "Reggie." I have quite the affinity for lower case letters, ellipses, Starbucks coffee, and reality tv (hey, don't you go judging me now). I like to have fun, but I'm not a party animal, I generally steer clear of clubs and dancehalls--I prefer the social buzz of a bar, especially one with live music.
I love laughing and being around people that I can make laugh, and can make me laugh. I believe life's too short to spend it worrying about the things that you can not change...it's also too short to spend regretting things...don't regret what you've done, regret the things you DIDN'T do when you had the chance...

I love what I do but there are not a lot of opportunities to meet people at work. Let's be honest, the field of nursing is predominately female. I have been a travel nurse for the past few years. While I have had an amazing time and made many life long friends along the way, I have yet to meet my soul mate. That being said, I have chosen Huntsville to finally put down some roots and hopefully build a life for myself here.
Most of my friends consider me to be an outgoing and happy person. I consider myself to be fairly tolerant and can get along with almost anyone. My friends and family are extremely important to me. I love animals. My dog, Maddie, is my sidekick. I am extremely allergic to cats. I enjoy hanging out with friends, laying by the pool, going to the beach and Auburn Football. I am looking for friends and whatever else may happen. I am keeping an open mind. I don't really know the Huntsville area that well and wouldn't mind getting to know a few more people...you can never have too many friends.
. Hello! I am 31 yrs old. I am a very happy, grounded person. I love being a mom and enjoy my career. I would say that my life experiences have shaped the woman I am today. I love conversation living life with friends and family. Some of the enjoyments in my life right now are spending time with friends. Creating memories with my daughter, having a nice meal out with a good bottle of wine. I enjoy community events, festivals, yard sales etc.camping, hiking, and playing croquet. :) I love to travel but don't do it enough! I am looking for a long term committed relationship. The person who I will live that with would be intelligent, enjoy life. A trustworthy man, a friend. Someone who knows that life is flowing and changing and mature enough to change with it. This man would enjoy a lot of the same things I do and want to share them with me.
. OK... how to start... I'm not your average 29 year old girl. First off, i graduated from Auburn with my degree in Ornamental Horticulture, worked in the ATL area for 4 years, and have finally moved back to AL. when I'm not at work, I'm usually at home in jeans & a t-shirt or sweats working in the garden or at the gym. Secondly, i am a cat person. 3 cats reside with me. the cats are not going anywhere any time soon. Thirdly, i have never been one to go to clubs or bars, i just don't enjoy being in crowds that much. i would prefer to spend time close to home, or with a small group of friends &/or family. i do enjoy cooking/grilling-out for everyone. i guess its the southern upbringing the i can't not be welcoming and polite to any and all who come to my home. i love kids, as you can see in my pics with my nieces and nephew.
I have recently changed jobs, and am finding quite a lot of satisfaction from working with a company that does so much for the community. The Garden is a wonderful place to work, and I have so much fun there, that I regularly find myself going in on my days off just to get a head start on the week. I guess it helps that I actually like my co-workers and we have fun doing our jobs!
things i enjoy doing, and hope my match would as well: gardening, swimming, light hiking, biking, skating, going to the gym, traveling, window shopping, watching movies on a rainy day with a fire, cuddling up with a book and a cat or 3, having a home cooked meal, holding hands, back/foot rubs (receiving and giving), going to concerts,( i love finding small venues featuring local bands).
Though i am an Aries, i tend to be extremely patient and even tempered. my parents certainly named me appropriately, Amanda: loving, and lovable. i am kind to all animals, even snakes and spiders and insects. i love to play in the dirt, dance in the rain, and play in the yard with the cats. i love to read, (anywhere i go i have a book with me just in case).
i am very close to my family, and would expect anyone i am even friends with to be able to get along with them.

. I am a 31 yr old mother.. I have a 4 yr old daughter.. I cherish every mintue that I get to spend with my family because life is to short.. My dad passed away when I was 10yrs old I really don't remember much about him... My mom passed away in 2009 that was the hardest thing I have ever had to go through... My mom was my best friend, my sister she was my rock always there for me... I knew I could always count on her for being supportive of me and anybody else in anything and everything we done... I still keep in touch with my childhood friends.. I would like to find somebody that is loving, caring, compassionate, man that doesnt mind I have a daughter and already made family..
