i admire humility, so writing about myself isn't easy, but here's my take:
great moments in history:
1965: i was born, and the beatles invaded america. no, not literally. there were only four of them. but if they had, we would have sent the beach boys to �take care of that.’
1968: moved from pensacola, but on moving day the fam couldn’t find me because i was hiding under libby’s bed. libby was my woman.
1972: after 1st grade in houston (which sucked. my teacher was old and mean. she said she had an �electric paddle’. i hope she’s in a nursing home that has no cable tv...or maybe just basic cable. but i digress...) i moved to flomaton for 2nd grade. every morning, the teacher would go to the �cloak room’ to get the story book. that’s when i would entertain the class by kissing my girlfriend.
1974: pitched in my first little league game as a nervous 9 yr. old. i just remember listening to chicago on the way to the ballpark. i still get nauseous when i hear chicago.
1976: quarterback for the pee-wee football team. we went undefeated. i was tiny. i was 11 and weighed 72 pounds. more on this later. oh, and there was talk about a �bicentennial’ that year. whatever.
1980: quarterback for the j.v. football team. we went undefeated. i was in the 10th grade and was 5’4”, 97 pounds. i was tiny. this was the year that ’80’s music’ began.
1983: graduated high school. still had not shaved. went to jr. college and played baseball. i had a �member’s only’ jacket.
1986: student manager for the bama football team. awesome. started listening to cool music. i'm finally 6 feet tall. that would have been helpful a few years earlier.
1993: passed the bar exam. grunge music was in. also listened to a lot of country music. strange mix.
1996: moved to puerto rico and taught jr. high english for 2 yrs. awesome experience, especially cheap caribbean travel, and the lifetime friends i made.
1998: back to tuscaloosa. opened my own office.
2002: my oldest daughter was born.
2003: my youngest daughter was born. (then i figured out was was causing this to happen)
2012: here i sit. but if a chicago song comes on, i think i’ll skip it.
these profiles seem to be about whatever mood someone is in. i’m rested, relaxed and clearly, goofy as hell. (but i swear i’m not drunk)
i think most people look at a picture, then read the profile if interested. in all honesty, i’m unlikely to contact someone that i doubt i’d be attracted to, or someone with no picture. i don’t over emphasize beauty, but attraction is important. my idea of beautiful is this: we’re on the beach. you don’t have on a stitch of makeup, yet i see you as beautiful. not a big makeup fan, but i know it’s sorta required. i'm deeply attracted to a woman that smiles with her eyes, because they really are the windows to the soul. a sexy smile makes me week in the knees.
i’m practical, dependable and wise. wisdom comes from learning from your own mistakes and the mistakes of others. got plenty of that. i’m patient and move slowly. this can be mistaken for a lack of interest, but i’m just thinking and observing. i'm not a microwave, i’m a crock pot. (speaking of, i love to cook. mainly because i love to eat.) my faith in God runs deep.
i don't do pettiness or drama. i also deserve to start with a blank slate. in other words, i won't pay for the sins of your ex. independence is sexy. if you're parents still pull the strings, that may be an issue for me.
my daughters are the best thing that ever happened to me, but a romantic relationship would never take a backseat to them. i’m raising them to understand that concept. they’re beautiful, funny, smart and best of all, sweet.
