I have lived on Maui for the last 15 years taking care of my gramma and running kidz programs, surfing, kiting and cruizn'.
This year I worked for the Navajo Nation and lived in Tuba City and Flagstaff. Navajo people are sooo nice and much more thoughtful than most people you'll meet these days. I love the culture and try to attend ceremonial doings as much as possible.
I have worked in my career to develop drug abuse, violence and suicide prevention programs based on traditional myths and legends of native people. For the past 12 years I ran kidz program called the Maui Hero Project. It is an after school, adventure program based on the myths and legends of the Hawaiian hero Maui. Students go caving, hiking, farming, waterfalling, surfing, kiting, paddle canoe, fishing, rock climbing, catch sunrises and do sweatlodges, all in hopes of awakening their heroez within. It's a ton of fun! I have clients across the country, am financially independent and own a home on Maui since 2000.
Traveled a lot this year around the US visiting friends, going on adventures and taking in ceremonies. Spent time in WA out towards Yakima paddling rafts and seeing Dave Matthews play at the Gorge Amphitheater. A handful of National Parks including, Yellowstaone NP, Arches NP, Grand Canyon NP, Yosemite NP, Badlands NP, Mt. Ranier NP, Volcanoes NP and Haleakala NP. Also toured around the midwest, Milwaukee, Chicago, Cleveland and Omaha. Hit some cool "Gear Towns," like Bend, OR, Arcata, CA, Santa Cruz, CA, Moab, UT, Durango, CO, Boulder, CO, Rapid City, SD, Billings, MT, Santa Fe, NM and Taos, NM. and of course Flagstaff and Sedona.
Just moved to Durango and starting some work at Escalante Intermediate School. Looking to settle down and build a home in the country with gardens and all that.
