Date a man from Lafayette, United States. The shoes that I wear are a reflection of who I am. OK, I know it’s odd for a guy to be discussing shoes, but they are a window. Wherever I go and what I’m doing is reflected by what’s on my feet (if anything at all). They are chosen for a purpose just as I choose my path.
For starters, my dress shoes are always in a box stored in the back of the closet. They are rarely used, so being stored in a box for special events and to keep the dust off seems appropriate. At the front of my closet are sandals, flip flops, and Keen leather casuals. Sandals and flip flops are just too easy to wear, versatile and comfortable. Leather casuals are perfect for the long working hours. Nearby are my running shoes, hiking boots, cycling shoes and with a little more digging more casual shoes. Regular hikes and jogs with my dog rely on the hiking and running shoes. The bike shoes for riding into work and fun outings. Casual shoes should never be far away when social outings call. An assortment of snow and ski boots, mocks, Crocs, and more hiking and running shoes are ready for their turn when needed. Proper tools for the trade are a must for the path you’re on.
I like to gather all the facts before I make decisions...and still then I'm open to suggestions. I don't believe I know it all, so I don't like to judge. I'm a huge fan of kind actions go a long way and a smile and laugh do more good than being a critic and holding grudges. Make your own happiness. I think the world needs more romantics and music is the spice that makes everything more enjoyable. Life requires hard work...so does a job, but they both can have good returns for your effort. There's no reason to ever be bored...however it's OK to slow down at times and just take a break. Watch and listen and you can learn a lot...sometimes you lead...sometimes you need to follow. Lastly I hold strongly to the need to strive for balance in all things.
I’m interested in meeting someone who enjoys being active outdoors, is environmentally minded, likes to crack open a bottle of wine and combine efforts to create a meal and then kick back to talk or watching a flick. Finding time for live music, theater or dance performances, interesting lectures, sporting events, and time with family and friends is important. I'll come up with my share of creative ideas. I'm looking for someone who enjoys time in the mountains and just following the road wherever it goes and doesn't mind a dog coming along. I enjoy the work I do and have been fortunate to continually take on new roles and challenges. My daughter is away at college but we remain close. I was hiking in Arches National Park years back and a guy in his 70’s in great shape, with a youthful smile and an bounce in his step blew buy me looking like this was something he did all the time. He looked content and at peace. I often reflect about him and hope that I’ll be that way when I’m his age, in good health, full of energy and enjoying my life with someone and somewhere not far from the wilds.
