Meet a man from Alabama, United States. I'm Canadian-born and have been living in the Bay Area for 25 years. I'm even-tempered, reliable, generous, gentle, energetic and playful, yes, and left-handed as well! I used to work in publishng but in 2002 returned to doing bodywork and have my own practice in Walnut Creek. I love working in a healing way with a wide variety of people and include as lot of movement in my approach. I also teach anatomy at a massage school.
I'm a pretty physical person -- I like working out and have done yoga since the 70s. I've always danced and used to perform quite a bit, though not much these days. I studied philosophy at Toronto and Oxford and am still somewhat (!) intellectual, with special interest in anthropology, history, Asian & Native American cultures, art and psychology. I love to travel and have been in Asian extensively. I'm an enthusiatic reader, always slowly noodling several books at a time. While I don t play an instrument (yet!), I do love music of many kinds, especially world and electronic/experimental and love to sing karaoke. I see a lot of movies, especially art films, classics and documentaries.
I can get pretty cerebral sometimes, but still really thrive being outside and love cutting loose and go to the mountains, coast or desert. I enjoy walking, hiking, camping and x-country skiing and used to be an avid climber. I like physical challenge but the experience of simply BEING in nature and appreciating beauty has always been a powerful spiritual source for me as well. Sometimes I also have a dreamy visual side and take pleasure going somewhere with a friend to sketch and explore different ways of looking at things. I can be very physically playful--this mostly gets expressed spontaneously, but I also like to have fun skating, swimming, bowling and (even) golf. In the right circumstances (as when I perform or teach) I can be very outgoing, but in large groups I sometimes tend to be introverted & perhaps a little shy. I really do best one-to-one, valuing intimacy and honesty in communication - I'm also a good listener and loyal friend.
I cherish solitude and do many interesting things alone, but I yearn to share this and more with someone that I am truly close to. I'm looking for a partner with a sense of wonder intact and lively artistic/spiritual/erotic interests. I appreciate someone with a fluid nature, someone who is positive, a little unconventional and flexible in their thinking...Still, I know it's essential to be able to deal with conflict and I respect having some internal fire as well!
