I have traveled and read and I also have a college education. However, my father was brilliante long before he ever went to college as a result of the GI bill. I come from working class people. My father and his family pioneered the Imperial Vally at the turn of the century. My mother's family immigrated to this country from Odessa in the Ukraine also at the turn of that same century. Since both my parents attended college my attendance was inevitable. I moved to Sacramento 2009 looking for a less expensive place to live as I got closer to retirement. I am an educator by profession, but currently not on anyone's salary. The beautiful young woman in my picture is my daughter who is currently going to college and living with me. I am looking first of all for a friend. It would be fun to have a companion for adventures like traveling, discovering a restaurant, exploring a nightspot, getting together with friends, etc. I can be serious, but am also able to giggle about funny or absurd experiences and secret exploits.

My early years were spent on the East coast and I love going to museums, art galleries, the theatre , foreign films and exploring unique bookstores.
Volunteering in our community has always been a part of my life. It can be a source of conversation at some time in the future if you are so inclined. In the meantime, I appreciate what I have and it makes me feel good to know that I can make a positive contribution in the life of someone who may be struggling.
