Date a soulmate from La Mirada, United States. Hey thanks for checking out my page. To facilitate your shopping, I’ve created a handy bullet point list about myself, michphd…formerly tallstud80…formerly excon11 (kidding). I’m not sure these are in order of importance but here you go…
• I’m originally from Texas and have been in California for a year and a half now. Overall I give it a B . The sun is pretty cool, the housing prices aren’t. We do have way too many people and too many taxes, but also have the beach. It balances out.
• I’m 100% white boy even though I have darker features. My family has been in Texas for a couple generations so when you ask what my ethnicity is, I’ll go with “Texan”. I have good southern values and sometimes just have to laugh at Cali people.
• I’m a legit 6’5” not a match.com 6’5”.
• On a scale of 1 being conservative and 10 being liberal, I’m a 4. As long as you're not a 1 or a 10 then we can be friends.
• I’m baggage free (no ex-wives, no kids, no debt, limited prior felonies…kidding). I’ve moved several times for work/grad school which has put a kink in a few relationships and has left me as SoCal’s most eligible bachelor.
• Education has been a big part of my life. I am a full-time college professor and teach business (accounting and finance). I love my university and love teaching. I’m also a CPA.
• I’m finishing my PhD dissertation this year (Higher Education Administration), which will make five degrees. I have a t-shirt that says “Dangerously Overeducated” and is pretty appropriate. You definitely don’t need to have pursued umpteenth degrees but if you didn’t go to college, it’s likely we’ll have had significantly different life experiences and you’ll be less appreciative of what I do.
• I have a Great Dane named Eli. He’s pretty awesome.
• I read a lot, stay up on current events, and really enjoy movies. This qualifies me as a more than suitable partner at Buffalo Wild Wings trivia.
• My biggest pet peeve is ignorance combined with lack of compassion. I can usually handle one or the other, but not both.
• I’m not into high fashion or superficial things. If you want to go on vacation in San Fran or Hawaii, I’m TOTALLY on board with that but if you want a pair of $2,000 Jimmy Choo shoes then I’m not the guy for you. I’ve worked very hard to get to where I’m at so if you understand/appreciate sacrifice then we’d more likely than not get along well.
• I’m very active and run 3 miles every day. As in every day…since January 1, 2008. It’s called streak running. Even if I had an awful day, at least I got the run in. I also really enjoy playing basketball, flag football, and softball intramurals with my students. Board games are cool too and involve less sweat.
• I can do a one armed push-up…but only with my left arm.
• I don’t drink alcohol (not a moral thing, just never acquired the taste) but can put away more than my fair share of coffee. Totally cool if you drink.
• I do want to settle down some time in the near future. Before I turn 80 would be ideal.
• The Starbucks is closing so I have to go now. Email/wink if you’d like, I’d love to hear your story.
