Date single man from California, United States. Update 7/26/12. I joined the Hayward Hiking Club months ago and have been going out to parks in the greater Bay Area nearly every Saturday (average 8 mile hikes). I'm again doing orienteering (about once a month on Sundays) with the Bay Area Orienteering Club. Look it up on The Net for more information on this international sport.
I see my son and two grandchildren about once a month, Grandaughter just turned 4; grandson 7 in August. I have dinner at their house or we go to Super Frank's in Pleasanton. I have a sit down job (mental health counselor) so, unfortunately, I've gained some weight and need to get more exercise (and correct my eating habits). I recently decided to walk to and from walk (nearly every day). I bought an iPod and I'm learning how to use it, mostly for podcasts while walking. I learned to use it for maps to scout hiking trails for the HHC. I'm leading one at Joaquin Miller (in Oakland hills) in August.
I'd like to meet a local woman to do things with: movies; dinners; day or weekend trips. In the past I enjoyed weekend trips to Monterrey and Carmel and other places up and down California. I been orienteering in the following states: Arizona; Colorado; Wyoming; Idaho; Washington; Oregon. I've been to Canada and Mexico. Many years ago, while in the service, I did day trips to countries in Europe. I'd like to go to Costa Rica someday (maybe take a cruise there).
