The Old Tiger
A raunchy old tiger lay in his lair
Dreaming and drooling over a tigress fair.
Her yellow eyes searching, a flash in the night
Seeking her prey, so swift to take flight.
Her sleek haunches rippling in her tense crouch,
Her white fangs gleaming from her hungry mouth.
Her lovely lips curled in a vicious snarl,
Her pointy ears alert for unseen peril.
The sly, creeping style of her nightly stalk,
The sensual sashay of her killer walk.
Her sinuous tail twitching left and then right
As she feeds in epicurean delight.
The old cat purred and rolled onto his back,
Smitten by the vision in orange and black.
She was his dream, savagely sweet feline,
On whose striped back he longed to recline.
And so to woo her and her love recruit
He bought her a box of JujyFruit.

Longings
I long to live old memories,
to touch old familiar hands;
to build shining fragile castles
from time's ever shifting sands.
I long to breathe the scented air
from yesterday's flowers that bloom;
to know the sweet chill of old evenings,
and the fragrance of youth's perfume.
I long to relive my childhood dreams
of mounting the intrepid breeze,
to find there my unrequited dreams
imbued with vagrant ecstasies.
I long to visit tomorrow
hand-in-hand with today's dreams
and peer over the horizon
where they may at last be redeemed.

Someplace
Someplace or other I suspect may be
a beauty unseen, a dulcet voice unheard
when met, spurs my heart to swiftly flee,
never again to risk a heart's pain endured.
Whether near or far, in that somewhere
lurks passion's fingers reaching forth to touch
the cradle of sweet innocent despair,
the nexus of memory's reluctant blush.
If the arrival in that fated sphere,
comes tomorrow or on a later day,
when veinless leaves mark a dying year,
I shall once again give my heart away.
If you are hip to music then you know the song "Who'll Stop the Rain" by CCR. Will you be the one to stop the rain?
Thank you for your visit...
