I'm looking for a guy who's relatively happy with himself, even if he's unhappy (lol); disciplined, stable, passionate and compassionate. I want to share activities we both enjoy, have conversations, and delight in each other's company (at least a good part of the time!). I love men who enjoy the benefits of involvement - whether it be their family, or their HOA, or whatever- just working on teams and making things better. I think it's good for the mind, and the soul. I want someone to share traveling with me - we may as well use that silly timeshare I bought. And I'd like someone who would enjoy escapes to see movies on the BIG screen with me - or on my 46" LED sometimes. And if he's an avid reader, or a history buff, all the better. I'm a bit of a news junkie now - probably trying to get caught up after all those years of reading mainly technical manuals.
I've lived here going on 8 years. Before this I was in Palo Alto, CA, for 20 years, working as a software analyst, first for Xerox, then as a consultant. I was born here In Phoenix, so I came home when I wanted a lifestyle change. I've been happy with the change I made, and have started dabbling in real estate. I stay busy and like the flexibility I've found. Real estate gives me a reason to really dig into what's going on now in Phoenix, and I like that - besides Phoenix seems to be at the forefront of the real estate market - a real trend setter. And that's what I seem to be all about - whatever there's a maelstrom of change and controversy - you'll find me. I started with a bachelor's in Cultural Anthrolpology at UC in the 70s - you can just imagine what that was like- remember Margaret Mead? Then I went after more of an education - grad school for awhile in math and physics, then found my way into programming and systems analysis just when the PC revoluction and SQL-type languages were going wild. Now Phoenix real estate - I'm wherever the source of change is :).
I'm pretty serious about a healthy lifestyle, so you can expect me to require time for exercise and to watch what I eat and drink, but I'm not a nut case. I love to be outside and would as soon be hiking in Yosemite as seeing plays in New York. But I'd be there for either in the blink of an eye. I eat mostly organic, mostly vegetarian. I love to cook, but I'm not a gourmet cook. I like simple ingredients that are high quality, and not so many as to confuse my palate. I only know the inside of two grocery stores - Trader Joe's and Whole Foods - and I like the local farmers' markets.
I have a rescue cat, Maks, who appears to have mostly Russsian Blue DNA. He is lively and curious and as soon as I typed his name, he came over to my desk to grab a toy and coax me away. What a character!

I am originally from Minnesota and lived in New England prior to moving to Arizona in 1994. Being able to trust someone and someone who can communicate openly is very important. I've been described as extremely trustworthy, loyal, a person of inner strength with a great sense of humor, and very adorable yet very classy. (Really - those aren't my words). I laugh every day. I am compassionate and non-judgmental. To relax I like to hike, walk, bike, and play golf. Actually, I'm open to doing a lot of different things. I also enjoy attending events such as baseball and football games, musicals, plays, and movies. My parents were ballroom dancers. I like to dance and am taking dance lessons. My instructor says I'm a natural - I'm not sure about that but it is a lot of fun. Cooking is a way for me to relax and I'm always up for trying new recipes. I also enjoy the many wonderful restaurants we have in the Valley. My drink of choice is a good glass of wine - red or white. I've visited wine country and would love to plan another trip to Wine Country, Anywhere. I'm drawn to water, especially the ocean - beach walking or just sitting on the sand and being mesmerized by the force of the waves. I like to hike when the sun is coming up and watching some of our beautiful sun sets takes my breath away. Because of it's closeness, San Diego is one of my favorite places for a quick get away. I enjoy a lot of different music. My favorite is Country, soft rock, oldies and classical. I like the group Train. Not into heavy metal. I'd like to find someone who has a healthy life style, is active yet can also enjoy a quiet evening with a home cooked dinner. I love to laugh and I love hugs. I'm financially secure and am thrilled to say I payed off my home this past year! Yea!
Here's a fun fact - I have an identical twin! She is, as you can imagine, very close to me and lives in Minnesota.
I believe in giving back. I work for a non-profit and at the end of the day I feel I've made a difference. I also volunteer and have been involved with the Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk for several years.

When you possess these qualites everything else falls in place. I am a very physical female. I enjoy sports (playing, not watching), hiking, walking, tennis, volley ball, etc. So....if you are a couch potato, please don't respond as you will get tired of me asking you to go places and do things. I love to travel, explore new tastes, smells, sights. I'm still working so have to do these things on vacations or long weekends. I am NOT into politics I walk my dog an average of 2 14 mi. per day. I am a petite mature woman. I have some wrinkles and folds. I weigh about 105 - 108 pounds and I am 4' 11" tall (legs and small breasts are shapely). PATHETIC to mention that! (it is process of elimanation.) I prefer dresses in the heat and jeans in the cool weather. Interested in slender abulatory man with diverse interests, a decent set of values and a moderate to elevated education. I believe learning is life-long and I expect us each to learn from each other and to inspire each other. I want an intimate relationship. Here is the caveat. Living in a small town in a respectable position, I have chozen celibacy for almost two decades. I am expecting an intellectual, physical, and emotional man to respond to me. Money, on his side. should not be a motive. The little I have, or may have left, is secured. I only want to be respected, held, loved, and adored....I EXPECT TO GIVE NO LESS IN RETURN.
