Frankly, I'm not having much luck with the whole dating thing anyway. I've really gotten to that point that I've lost faith in love and romance. Never thought I'd become one of the jaded, but apparently I am. I would sure love to find someone who could restore my faith in this whole thing.
I'm not a bad guy at all. I'm a good, decent, thoughtful, empathetic, nice Christian guy. I wish I could pinpoint what it is that leads to my utter lack of success in the romantic realm of life.
Don't take all this the wrong way...this isn't a pity party. I'm not asking anyone to feel sorry for me. I'm not lacking in confidence...i like who I am. I enjoy my sense of humor, my youthfulness, my intellect, I like the way I look just fine. And I think I am a great catch for the right person.
I would just like to find that person that fits with me you know? I'd like someone I can laugh and kid with. Someone I can go to a concert or a Rockies game with, or a drive in the mountains, or a rainy Saturday afternoon in watching movies, playing games, cooking together. I'd love to find someone who enjoys superhero/fantasy/sci-fi movies and can geek out a little with me. I'd love to find someone who enjoys 80's rock and more current pop and rock as well. And praise and worship music. Someone who is down-to-earth, real, human, and Christian. Someone I can have great intellectual discussions with who can also riff with me on pop culture references, movie quotes, etc.
As far as physical appearance, I'm not going to B.S. you and try to sound all high-minded. Yes, I would like to appreciate the looks of the person I'm with too. I'm sorry but I can't fake that very well. I have a sense of honesty and intergrity and I think if I am looking at you, you will see if I am admiring your appearance and attracted to you or if I'm trying to be polite. I think every woman deserves a guy who can make her feel beautiful, sexy, and desireable. So what do I go for...usually my eye is always caught by someone who is fairly slender, with long, dark hair, anywhere from 5'4" to 6'. I tend to prefer naturally cute/pretty rather than "hot" or "gorgeous". (I know, leaves a lot open to interpretation there). However, there is room for some flexibility.
Personality-wise, I tend to be most attracted to the gal who is kind of sweet, kinda shy, kinda quirky, kinda quiet until you get to know her and smart. I've noticed I tend to attract women who are more loud and funny and assertive, but that type just doesn't attract me much.
Someday, I hope to get married and have kids. This site is hopefully something that will eventually lead me to that person. And I'm hopeful that along the way I can meet some people and have some fun dates.
As for me, I am a man who loves kids. I love God and Jesus. I'm a good encourager (words of affirmation would be my primary love language). I sing in my church choir. I work in the disputes department for a mortgage servicer while going to school to be an elementary teacher. I love my son, my nieces, my brother and sister-in-law and my parents. I have some really great close friends and numerous aquaintences. My life is full and good. But I miss having that one special relationship with a woman.
I've tried here to find the line between "refreshingly open & honest" and "TMI". Hopefully I've erred on the side of the former, not the latter.
