Learning a new language, blowing the Team away by your partnership/investment in the last major project that the boss jolted you with, grooming the house you purchased last year, the time we invest at the gym week-to-week, or, a new relationship with a potential life partner/spouse/best friend ... anything good is worth investing in, being patient about, maintaining perspective around, working at, learning about (i.e. l"earning," more than "knowledge" allows one to be intuitive, kind, warm, timely... a good friend),
Developing anything takes wit, creativity, spice, patience, sugar, and ...
HMMMmmm ... you tell me. Perhaps that open-ended thought leaves a welcomed entry point for someone who has some interest in filling in the blanks and putting definition to the rest by sharing some TIME TOGETHER.
I have a great smile AND I tend to share it with the world ALL THROUGH the day. It's natural % I love the fact that ONE sincere smile can change the entire tone, outcome of a conversation, meeting, exchange, conflict, day, etc. *for ONE or MORE people*!! :)
No doubt, I try use mine to break down many barriers socially, professionally, physically ... as I engage the marketplace, family, friends, the sweet gal @ DunkinDonuts who pours my Hazelnut every morning! ;)
I want more from a social life than the norms (especially in the dating "scene") we get when we put - only - our ambivalent, guarded, cautious, caliced foot forward. The impersonal, agenda-clad dating scenes which leaves even the most resilient, optimistic, charismatic souls weary, cynical, rude, EMPTY. Lame!
... I have so much MORE to give in EVERY area of LIFE than to dole out or accept BS like that; taking my cues from some columnist's encouragement to toy w/ a heart, take what you can, avoid being authentic, i.e. playing w/ a man's heart rather than telling "him:"
- how you feel,
- that you deeply admire him,
- that you think about him while ____ bc of ____
- ETC., ETC., ETC.
A man that understands my headline, a man who understands my "About Me & Who I'm Looking For" likely has a great chance of seeing that smile through thick & thin!
In other words, if you have a strong self-identity, can manage thinking about your combined future (aligning it w/ someone else) while you manage your already-hustle-bustle iCal, carry a conversation, but *you* are:
* excited by the idea of a partner who can,
* excited (NOT INTIMIDATED) by a best friend who wants these things ...
THEN ... we should meet!
