Every day I go to work just thrilled that people pay me to do work I love. My job fits perfectly with my positive outlook on life and my ambitious nature, and I definitely have a lot of flexibility in my work and my time. Away from work are my true passions, I'm either playing with my incredible 3 year old son at the park, in the house, at the zoo, or I'm in my home studio crafting another magical (or as the case may be, noisy! lol) piece of music I'll dissect for days before I love it.

Last year I got into hiking, and this year I've also recently gotten into cycling. A friend of mine challenged me to do a triathlon and I'm going to do it. I got my butt in shape last year (lost 50 lbs and have kept it off) and working toward the triathlon is a fun and challenging goal!

I'm perfectly happy reading, listening to music, playing video games or just hanging out. I'm usually a quiet night in type of guy but I can usually be persuaded to go for a night out on the town. With the right company I love to experience new things and travel. To keep active I try to go jogging, hiking or to the gym regularly. I go through phases where I'm much better about that than others. I enjoy playing most racquet sports though sadly I'm not very good. I wouldn't really call myself adventurous but I'm willing to do almost anything once (like skydiving). I cook a few times a week but find it difficult to make things in small portions and usually end up with tons of leftovers (which drives me a little bit crazy). In my younger years I played a lot of classical music (violin and piano) but haven't done much with it since college. I recently started learning how to play the guitar. I definitely have a bit of an inner geek but try to keep him under wraps.
I tend to skip breakfast even though I know I shouldn't. I usually listen to NPR in the car until I get sick of it then switch to pop/rock. I generally like action and drama movies but have a secret weakness for chick flicks with a comedic flair. My favorite food is probably Thai or sushi but I think pizza and burgers are yummy too. I am generally fairly oblivious to current sports (not that I don't understand or appreciate them, I just don't really follow sports typically), reality TV, and local news. I do, however, usually read the NY Times online most days.
I grew up in Connecticut, decided to get away from home, and went to school in Chicago. I ended up here because of a job opportunity. I'm an eye doctor - yes I perform surgery, no I don't do LASIK.
