The job has its perks as well as things wrong with it, but in the end I love what I do. Currently I am still a mechanic, but I have moved to a different arena...I teach fighter jet mechanics to people. It is a nice break from the long hours I was working and I am enjoying teaching as much as I enjoyed actually working the long hours fixing jets. Because I teach now I have much more free time than I used to, so I am also going to school full time. I am attending Penn State University (their online campus, obviously) working toward my bachelor of science in psychology with a business minor. I should be done soon, then I hope to move on to Penn State's MBA program or M.S.Psy program.
When I'm not working or doing school work, I love to work out. I actually enjoy different fitness programs. Currently I am doing a P90X/Insanity hybrid while running a 5k twice a week. Every now and then when I am on a time crunch, I like to replace a workout with a Crossfit workout. Other than that, I enjoy reading the occasional book, playing with my dog (a 2 yr old Shiba Inu), and hanging out with friends. My family lives in Pennsylvania, so I don't get to see them often, but I will always call/skype them whenever I can...at least once a week.
I'm looking for someone who like to stay active...no one wants someone who does nothing all day. She needs to either have a job or is going to school full time in hopes to get a job. She needs to be funny and can keep up with my occasional sarcasm or witty remarks. Also it doesn't hurt if she has a nerdy side to her (even just a little bit). Extra points to a good cook as well!

So I have no idea what deep and introspective things will give you an insight into who I am, so I'll just start with the basics. My name is Matthew and I'm 29. I'm originally from California and moved out here about five years ago. I'm really close with my family so I try to make it back to Cali every couple months. I always tell the truth so ask me anything. I love old movies and could spend the entire day watching them. I have two French Bulldogs, I love pie and tend to overuse butter when cooking. I'm a total foodie so if you're not down with sushi and trying new restaurants, then you're not down with me. I workout but am much happier getting out and being active in order to keep in shape. I think everything is funny even at inappropriate moments. I think warm cookies and cold milk are a perfectly acceptable meal at any time of the day. I volunteer at church, play softball and love going out to baseball games. I carry my air guitar with me wherever I go, but my air drums sometimes get a little heavy. I want to learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.
So what am I looking for in a girl? Everything. I want a girl that knows what she wants in life and works hard to get it. I want someone who is strong and independent but loves when I take care of her. I want someone that doesn't mind getting a little dirty but likes to put on a dress and paint the town red occasionally. Someone that is kind and honest and uses their smile to lift up those around them. A best friend, someone to laugh with even if it's just because I have something on my face. I'm not in Kansas anymore, which to me I guess means I'm a ways from home. I'm ok with not being in Pittsburgh, but miss the vibe and my friends and family from my other former homes Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Being a career-oriented guy has had me moving for opportunity, which brought me to Phoenix. Since moving here I've worked a lot, found a home, gotten a dog, and hopefully being on here will help me meet someone to share my life with.
I haven't been the most successful guy with relationships in the past which I think is a combination of chasing the wrong girls and not opening myself up to the really good ones that have come along. To me school and my job have been huge challenges and taken a lot of my time, energy, and focus away from focusing on other important parts of life.
That said I'm not the most confident or experienced guy, but hopefully someone can overlook that if they find other things about me to like. Aside from anything too crazy I'm down for anything and I'm paying on the first couple dates and am open to many different activities and sports. Some say I'm good at everything but in reality I'm just well rounded in life.

But for someone to meet and spend time with in a dating sense id prefer someone in or near the same stage of life in that they are out on their own and have a career going.
