Another little something that you might want to know about me is that I don't follow trends, I never have. While some things never go out of style, like integrity, honor, politeness, and manners, I have always made it a point in life to never follow the herd. If everyone is jumping on the band wagon, I'm probably not. It's not that I am trying to be different, not at all. It just seems to me that the culture is going down hill fast, and I don't want to go that way. I trust my gut instincts because they have served me well, and they tell me that if the whole world is enamored with it, then it is probably a bad idea. I didn't go for silly-looking parachute pants and break-dancing in the 80's, or the "grunge" thing in the 90's. So these days, you'll never find me with my undershorts hanging out the back of baggy, oversized pants, wearing bandanas on my forehead with my hat on backwards, playing video games, listening to "gangsta" rap, or permanently scarring or disfiguring my body with piercings or ink. And I do take a certain pride in not being able to recognize and identify many of the pretty, frivilous, insignificant, and otherwise helpless people in those magazines at the checkout stand. I have made it a priority in life to always be the leader, and not the led: the sheperd, and not the sheep: the cowboy, and not the cow.
But please don't misunderstand. Just because I am a little old-fashioned in some ways doesn't mean that I am not a good time.I am one HELL of a good time! (or at least that is what I am told) I love to do all kinds of things, in all kinds of places. And ANYTHING that I do.I tend to do well ;)
Finally, for about the past fifteen years I have owned a construction company here in the far north Valley. We specialize in higher-end custom home foundations, and anything concrete or masonry. Since the bottom fell out of the entire industry about four years ago, I decided to go back to school. I am doing very well, and will be applying to medical school soon. Running my company, going to school and handling my other responsibilities takes time. However, I am absolutely certain that my efforts and determination will be worth it in the end, and I would just love to have a good gal come along with me for this next leg of my journey. I am also a former U.S. Marine, and was a ranch foreman for a time. I have five dogs and a couple of horses, and I have lived in the same beautiful home for the past twelve years right here in Cave Creek, Arizona. I am strong, intelligent, kind, principled and patient. I have good instincts and character, and have been fairly successful in life, and I intend to stay that same course. In the last eighteen years, I have been fortunate enough to have traveled to almost every Continent on Earth. I have seen some truly amazing things, but after its all said and done, there is nothing more special or beautiful than watching the sunrise over the Arizona desert. Enjoying a cup of coffee as the
desert wakes up, watching the sun paint the mountains pink and purple, is one of my small pleasures. I'm enjoying slowing down, but would love to still travel with someone special.
When I was growing up, my brothers and I fought like cats and dogs. Nonetheless, we still loved each other very much (and I can't forget my sisters, who are in my pictures). My Father is one of my greatest Heroes and my Mother has the patience of a Saint.
My friends are just as important as family to me. Some of them I have had since childhood, and we are still close. In my line of work my co-workers are more than just co-workers. They become the most amazing friends that you can trust your life with. I'm fiercely protective of my circle. Without friends and family what do you have in this world? Who are you? Where are you going? Who will be there to catch you when you falter?
From time to time I have been accused of having an earthy sense of humor... That may be so if you are wound a bit too tight, but I enjoy laughing at my self every now and then. Life is just to humorous not to have fun with it!
