I am an Army brat. We moved to Alabama when I was 15. I love the military, and it is such an honor to work with and support Soldiers on a daily basis. I want to whack kids, and even adults, who don't have enough respect to stand during the National Anthem or the Pledge of Allegiance, and for pete's sake, put your hand over your heart. I think our service members are amazing. Their life of sacrifice is inspiring. And our veterans deserve our respect. Memorial Day and Veteran's Day are not for cookouts.

I love my old 80s music - Def Leppard, Poison, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, etc. - so if this embarrasses you, then I'm probably not the girl for you. I also like Daughtry, Nickelback, Evanescence, etc. I love the Rat Pack and the Brat Pack. My daughter and I are loving all of the forensics shows on these days - NCIS, Bones, Criminal Minds, et al., and the History Channel, TLC, and Discovery are also favorites. I've begun collecting old 80s shows such as Who's the Boss, Family Ties, Growing Pains and Facts of Life.
I am a Christian, but fairly new in my faith. I wasn't raised in church exactly. I found God later on. I believe in the power of prayer, and I believe in God's ability to turn everything for good - even if it's not for our good. I think "The Shack" is an amazing book that quite accurately displays Jesus and God and the relationship of the Holy Trinity. I go to church almost every Sunday, and I realized recently that my Wednesday night service actually restores my soul, and I don't like it when I miss. Christians have given themselves a bad rap, but I think people who know nothing of religion or God, judge Christians based on their notion of faith, even though they don't have any. They fail to understand that Christians are human and fallible, and the bible addresses that. If this bother's you, please move on.
I don't really know what or who I'm looking for. I want a friend. Someone I can respect, who exhibits a quiet strength - no chest beaters please. I would like someone who has remained gainfully employed most of his adult life - with a minimum of W2s each year. A degree is not required, but please don't be intimidated because I have one, or that I may want to continue working toward a master's degree. I want someone who's kind and thoughtful. The little things really do make a difference and makes a girl feel loved. Don't be a liar or a deceiver. I've had enough of that for one lifetime. And monogamy really is sexy.
