Date men and women from Alabama, United States. Don't know what to put here, I've been single for 40 years and haven't had time to date much. Since retiring and moving back to AL I find that having a special person to share time and experiences with would be nice. Used to do a lot of things with friends. Didn't go to college until I was in my 30's. Started on masters in Florence but my mother got sick and I had to take care of her.My daughter and son-in-law opened a furniture store near Ft Rucker in Ozark; and here came "nana" so don't know many people. I volunteer at the Ozark library once or twice a week and substitue at the local schools. Looking for someone outgoing and that enjoys laughing even at self. Hopefully, the person I meet will enjoy traveling, gambling for fun and just make life a little more valuable. As stated at the beginning I really don't know what to put in here and I can't believe I'm doing this...

I enjoy the mountains and the beach but it appears these two areas now are overpopulated judging by the interests of others on this site. Kind is the word friends most often use to describe me; I cheer for the underdog. Fortunate, lucky, and blessed are the words that describe my life, even with the disappointments, sorrows and losses we have all experienced. I prefer to reside in the present, benefiting from the insights and perspectives gained from the past. I am competitive by nature. With time and effort, I have known what it feels like to reach certain skill levels to enjoy physical and mental activities in different venues. Some of you know what I mean...the sound of a golf club hitting the ball just right. Although I never learned to swim, I am a certified scuba diver. With friends, I learned to play pool, bridge and dance...cajun, zydeco, swing, bop, shag, etc. Today, the bucket list includes less physical and more mental activities like learning to play poker and chess. What am I looking for on this site? Not sure. Perhaps best described by the old adage, "You will know it when you see it."

I am very grateful that God allowed me to have great work opportunities over the past 50 years, no matter where I've lived (in 4 different cities/towns in three states in the Southeast) with my late husband of 45 years! I am educated, dedicated, compassionate, caring, honest, hopefully attractive....just a down-to-earth kind of Christian person. I don't keep up with the Joneses; I don't put on airs; I am ME and am satisfied with myself, the way I dress since I worked out in public, and my accomplishments. I was raised on a farm so I know the value of money and time. Seeing children having fun playing (but not too loudly) and animals just being themselves are fun experiences that make me happy inside and out. I was the youngest of 4 and "hardly got a word in edgewise" which made me shy as a child/teenager; but I've gotten over that and still making up for lost time by loving life, people, and family!!!!
