I recently commited myself to taking on my first Xterra Triathlon, a .75 mi swim, 14.1 mi sigle track mountain bike, followed by a 5.4 mi run on those same trails. I'm looking for someone who I can share new experiences with and enjoys the same activities. We need to be able to cook amazing meals together and unwind over a bottle wine. After a day full of activity or a long day at work I want to be able to cuddle on the couch while watching an episode of Star Trek before falling asleep together.

I work hard, but play harder. Just like seemingly everyone else around here, I love to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Volleyball and running are my faves, but love the winter just as much. Nothing quite like hanging out in the village after a day at Vail or downtown Breck at night. I love my snowboard and play up there as much as I can. I am a die hard Bronco and Avs fan, but also love to check out a play at the DCPA or a museum. I also just invested in a little tavern with 3 patios so that will be fun this summer too.
My other love is my "kids" - I am a mentor for a youth organization that focuses on at-risk teens. The guys in the pictures are two of my faves. I am so proud of their accomplishments and they have had a huge impact on me. (See my iPod with Usher, Beyonce, Chris Brown, and Snoop right next to Tom Petty, The Samples, Dave Matthews, and Jack Johnson). My last one is actually graduating from high school next weekend and I couldn't be prouder.
I am looking for someone who wants to have live it up. I know that sounds really cliche, but that I mean taking advantage of whatever life throws your way; a trip to some faraway place, a walk in the park on a Tuesday afternoon, a bagel on a Sunday morning at Moes, or a drive just to drive somewhere you have never been. You'll find me laughing constantly, and I'll most likely get you going too. I come from a large, somewhat riotous family, and love my bevy of nieces & nephews. I've even been asked to take on the godfather role five times, but I'll spare you the attempt at a Marlon Brando impression.
Standard sales pitch aside, what else is relevant or random? I grew up in Singapore, got stitched up a dozen times, can devour a tray of lasagna without packing on pounds, tend to run endurance races spontaneously, and own my own genuine lederhosen (Oktoberfest requires it). I served twice in Afghanistan, the last time as a senior advisor to their government, and still write about the experiences. If you met me at a festival in the mountains, you'd probably never guess that part.
I love this great state, and can't wait for another Colorado summer - the nonstop energy of NYC was great for years, but I packed up and moved here in '09 and haven't looked back. Seeing new sights and expanding cultural horizons are always immensely important to me, and I've treated my time spent in various parts of the world as adventure travel. I'd just rather do so in my own clothes (sans uniform) and on my own timeline, and ideally with someone special.
Hopefully you're open to embracing life, love, depth, creativity and spontaneity. I'm impressed by anyone who can enjoy a 14er hike, a ballgame, or an art museum with ease and a lot of laughs. The Denver vs. Boulder divide is really amusing to me -- maybe because I like a lot about each, and can easily live in either one.
