I love being a veterinarian. I am an emergency vet and work long stressful hours/shifts but there isn't anything else I could imagine doing. Since I work emergency, we work nights, weekends, and holidays; not always, but a large majority of the time. I think this has a lot to do with my "making the best of every day", attitude as holidays are not needed to hang out with friends or family or to let someone know how much they mean to you. My dog, Kaya, means the world to me and she has been with me through thick and thin as well as helped me make it through vet school by being my guinea pig, no pun intended.
I am a passionate, honest, and loyal person in all aspects of my life. I am driven and know what I want and strive to reach my goals. I am a very laid back person and accept people for who they are. I was born and raised in Chicago, IL, but have also lived in Wisconsin and Hawaii. My friends, family, and my dog are all very important to me and I would do just about anything for any of them. I love cooking and used to be a saucier in an Italian restaurant. As a saucier, my job was to create fresh sauces for our pasta dishes. Music is another obsession of mine. I am a huge fan of most genera, except for country and/or western music. Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash are the exception to the rule. As soon as I moved here, I was hooked...a dozen or so years later, I'm still here with no plans to leave. I love the mountain lifestyle and all the different things there are to do (although I do miss the convenience of living in a city). I also enjoy investing in real estate…Being a very hands on person makes it possible to buy distressed properties, repair them, and make them profitable.
