I guess I'm from the old school of thinking that family and friends are there for you through thick and thin, and likewise you are there for them. I try to always see the positive side of things. Which makes me pretty laid-back, but at the same time, I'm a driven person that can't just sit in limbo. I'm always thinking of new things to do, or new challenges. Life's too much fun just to sit around and wish it was better. I am a pretty well-rounded person. I can fix a car and change a light bulb, you know all that guy stuff. But I'm still a softy like a teddy bear, yes I'll admit it I like to snuggle but don't tell my friends LOL. I can be a big kid and have fun, but I can also throw on a shirt and tie and do the grown-up stuff when it's time to be serious.
The woman I'm looking for would have to have all those great qualities like honesty, trust, caring, a love of life, confidence, good sense of humor, great personality, and be able to carry on a conversation. Can you handle it?

I feel as if I've spent months (o.k., maybe minutes, but it seemed like an endless process) trying to come up with a unique username and, yes, this is all I have to show for it. I hope I will be more successful in describing who I am and what I am looking for. I am returning to Match after a long hiatus. I have met some really fantastic women, including someone very close to being "the one". So I know success is a possibility, but also realize that the process can be painful and somewhat cringe-inducing. I've been on those dates where nothing clicks- I call them the "check please!' dates that can't be over soon enough. I've also been lost in conversation for hours and hours on dates that neither of us wanted to end. I'm hoping to find more of the latter, because it's a pretty good feeling when it works.
So, a little about me...I have many friends (at least that's what Facebook tells me) who would probably describe me as kind, funny, generous, laid back (sometimes a little too laid back), quiet (sometimes a little too quiet), intelligent and always there when needed. I've been in Colorado most of my life, though I was born in New Jersey (insert joke here) and went to graduate school there. I work in finance, managing money, but expect to put a stop to that as soon as I win the lotto, any day now. I have driven the same car for 13 years, not because I am cheap, but because it just won't stop running- so I guess you could describe me as practical. If you ask me to choose between camping and a hotel, I will choose hotel every time, but if you would like to camp, I will camp happily. Dogs really love me- I think that's a good sign. Cats and I have a very complex relationship- it remains to be seen if we can work out our differences. I respect you and your religion, but please respect my opinion that I have yet to hear an explanation of 'how/why we came to be here' that is to my satisfaction. If you can provide that, then you probably have a higher calling and shouldn't be wasting your time winking at me on Match. I am 'center-left' politically, but love the debate and might be convinced to move to 'center-right'. Extremes on either side, we might have a nice date or two, but in the end, it will probably do us in. I am an older man that knows entirely too much about "The Hills" and "The Real World", I'm not sure what that says about me, but I'm fairly certain it doesn't say anything good. I am well aware that my time would be better served by saving the world or curing cancer, but sometimes you've just got to let the brain rest. I sleep on the left-side of the bed, so I need someone who is right-side compatible. I can't share a toothbrush, even if its with someone I love. I don't know why, that's just how it is. I can do fine dining or a food cart on the side of the road with equal enthusiasm, but try to avoid Chilis/Applebees/MassMediocrity Inc. Meet a man from Greenwood Village, United States. Hello, I'm Brian, I just move from Indianapolis (Jan 4th) where I worked for my uncles company for 9 years... I was originally planning on moving back to San Francisco where my immediate family lives, but I got a great job offer here and decided to give it a try... so far, so good; I really like Denver. My new job has a pretty big learning curve, so I haven't ventured out much, however, the mountains are calling my name and I'm sure I'll get up there soon!
About three years ago, I decided to make some pretty big life changes. I put down the bottle (in my case can), stopped hanging out at bars, starting showing up at work early and leaving late and decided it was time to finish my college degree. I've always been one to challenge myself, but this particular challenge seems to be paying off. I still have about 30 hrs left until I finish my degree (assoc. in CIT from Purdue and a BS in Informatics from Indiana Univ. ) I'm taking a semester off but the new job is keeping my brain pretty stimulated.
I'm a bit of a fitness freak, but not I'm one spend all day in the gym. I believe in putting the headphones on, head down and rock it out for 40-45 mins. I don't wear tank-tops, I do arm curls and I don't stand in front of the mirror wondering if people are checking me out. And the truth be known, 85% of being in "shape" is diet, ...and yes, I'm really strict on my diet. I'm just a firm believer in, you-are-what-you-eat! ..but I've had a good teacher.. my dad is 67, he's eating healthy his whole life... and he still skis black diamonds! ha! he's pretty awesome!
I'm hard working, loyal and very easy going. I love learning new things but tend to be a little OCD when I like something, however, I'm making a lot better decisions now that I'm a little older.

Traveling, I often end up in unusual interesting places; singing rugby songs in a cricket club 5 miles from the nearest telephone with a coal mining, knife making, missing link from the Welsh hills comes to mind (this turned out good) but so does sleeping on the streets of NYC (this one not so much).
Yes I do all the typical Colorado activities, hiking, biking, boarding, I think you know all of them already. I’ve also played Rugby for…well let’s just say a long time and probably will for as long as I can still score try’s (touchdown), and have picked up lacrosse.
My kids are priority in my life, but my philosophy is for them to experience life not babysit them.
My company brings me a lot of pride and keeps me very busy.
