I have a deep and abiding love for sharp thinkers and appreciate banter more than fine wine (and I adore fine wines, but am no expert). My friends enjoy my silliness, which is helpful. I use self-deprecating humor a lot because so many crazy things happen in my world that to not realize how funny they are would be criminal, if not depressing. I really like the sound of laughter and giggling...even the sound of a smile can make my day.
I came to Scottsdale five years ago after living most of my life in SoCal (with stops in Northern CA and NYC) and I revel in the decision to leave LA every time I'm on the 101 and the "traffic" slows me all the way down to 30 instead of 5.

I was recently told, by a man who was trying to interest me in a date, that I was an "unusual" woman because I did not ask him what his career was, where he lived or what he drove the first time I met him. I don't find that particularly odd as I'm just trying to let my sixth sense kick in as to whether I might like the guy at all. And my sixth sense works VERY well. It's not so much about what a person does but how he does it and who he is at the core.
I am a bit of a contradiction. I'm prim and proper in the little black dress and pearls when necessary, down and dirty if I'm playing in the water or dirt, and a little bit wild if the event warrants it AND if I feel like it! I'm tolerant but not necessarily patient, strong but cry every now and then, open minded, but not easily swayed, creative and artistic but pretty sensible. Sometimes I find humor in weird situations. I am a good leader but not necessarily concerned if anyone follows. I can be a great negotiator if the situation is worth the effort, but honestly I tend to negotiate things my direction. Yes, I may be a little high energy at times, for the most part I'm actually pretty mellow. I'm not high maintenance or a drama major!
I'm a photography lover and usually behind the camera not in front of it, therefore, the photos I submitted! LOL I have a journalistic approach in my photograhy. I like to capture the real beauty of the the person and show them as they truly are. I have been experimenting with some still life projects and I have been receiving positive comments so who knows?
My down side... is that I can be difficult to read. (Great for business not so great for personal relationships) I'm working on it!
What/Who am I looking for? Very good question! I don't know what I want but I know what I don't want. The good news is that I'll know him when I see him! Seriously, he will be optimistic, intelligent, creative/artistic, kind, will know how to consider a significant other in their life, appreciate a woman with a mind(that works), love the beach, music, kids and animals, open minded regarding spirtuality. Ah yes, and sex - he's gotta like it! Comfortable in his own skin and confident is important too! Now, that's not too much to ask is it??
I'm notoriously known for saying that one person cannot "complete" another person. I believe we must be whole and happy on our own and that our mate adds to our life. You want to be with that person you don't need to be with that person.
I love the water; in it, on it, looking at it! I love horses and many things outdoors, but back to the contradictory part...I love Manhattan and have fun at the theatre and art museum as well. I'm female! That explains everything!

My sons and I have enjoyed over the years doing volunteer work at various places. I think it has really helped all of us to look outside our own little world and see what we can do for others. Since my husband died at a fairly young age I think it has helped all of us to see the needs of others and not feel sorry for our selves and our situation. Things I would like to do someday.....would love to travel and see my family that live in Germany and Spain. Then would love to travel all over the world.
