Now a little about me.
I love irony...it is everywhere, and often I chuckle when I am involved in some sort of ridiculous situation involving people who can't see the irony in it all.
I am from the Midwest...but....I have lived on the West coast or out of country since 1989. I still have friends there, and of course remember what it is like, but for all intensive purposes I am now a Californian.
I learned at a young age how to get what I want by holding my breath until I passed out. This caused such consternation with my assigned guardians in life, meaning it was effective, that I used this form of negotiation for several years. Now however, I find that passing out when I don't get my way tends not to be viewed in such a good light, especially when at work. So I have perfected the technique of talking...imagine that...a male who talks. It keeps me awake in meetings and looking mature during moments when I don't immediately get my way. I have also learned the art of compromise. There’s much less drama than just passing out, but again, it is a much more mature approach to life's little struggles.
I like people watching...Saturday or Sunday mornings at a coffee shop are most intriguing. Have you ever seen a couple together and wonder “how the hell did that ever happen?”...not that I am judging, but some people just don't look normal together...maybe it's just me.
Do you like movies with good dialogue and not just some sex scene or love affair inserted to make the movie more appealing to the mass market...i.e. women? Take Pearl Harbor for instance....Michael Bay/Jerry Bruckheimer took a movie that could have been great, and turned it into a fiasco with the love affairs. It was completely out of place, and felt contrived.
Any sci-fi lovers out there? Can't wait for Captain America/Thor/Avengers.... BIG SMILE Also, if you know what the “FRAK” this means, super bonus points! Grace Park, if you are reading this, (I know you are married though), I am available Saturday nights!
I also like this movie...Cinema Paradiso...I shed a silent tear every time I watch it...silent, because it would not be macho to do so openly...okay, in front of my dog. She might think I was hurt or something...I don't want to send her mixed signals.
