I am divorced with 2 children. A boy and a girl. They live with their mother in another state. I visit as often as I can as my career allows. Since I work in the aviation field, I tend to travel all over the world, so I do not get to visit every weekend or spend every birthday or holiday with them.
I am happy with who I have become over the years after my divorce (this may open a topic for conversation at a later date). I am very satisfied with the direction I have selected for myself and of what I have accomplished, with more to come.
Obviously I am independent but I am not obnoxious about it. I am passionate about everything I do. I am not a procrastinator on things I consider important, yet if I am not interested, I will put things off. That sometimes rises up to bite me in the seat.
I have to be organized at work, so naturally it spills over to my personal life, however, I can be spontaneous at the HINT of adventure.
Communication (and the ability to communicate on many levels), honesty (a small word with many huge meanings), trust (as well as trustworthy) and respect (as well as knowing the difference between giving before receiving) are must haves in my world. I have a tendency to give more than I take and I give a lot.
I have reached the point in my life where I would cherish companionship to share the rest of our lives. There are still a great many adventures awaiting us over the horizon. Fair warning though, I have an adventurous streak in me ten-miles-wide.
I travel all over the world with my job. I also take one of my Hot Air Balloons with me when I can.
Italy, Germany and Scotland are excellent places for Christmas. Japan and Australia in the Spring as each has its' beauty. England in the summer. South Africa in the mid-Autumn. Kuwait and North Africa is dry and hot but the ancient ruins in North Africa are amazing.
So now that you know a little about me (we do need to leave a few things for our talks),
I imagine you might want to know what I am looking for in a companion.
I am NOT NOT NOT looking for someone that I need to spoil every day in order to keep her happy.
I do not have a need for arm Trophy, but appearances and physical attractions spawn endorphins and heart-palpitations from across crowded rooms. I am looking for someone that catches my imagination, (mentally, emotionally, physically) and keeps me anticipating the next jovial antic behind the door as I arrive home after a long trip.
I really do like simple things in life:
A meal cooked at home outdoors in the rain or in the snow will leave me having the need to warm you up in very pleasant ways after the meal. Coffee just the way I like it simply because you like the way my hair looks mussed up in the morning. A note in my pocket from you I will not see until I need to pay for something. (use your imagination)
Long walks in a forest trail just so you can swing my hand in rhythm to our steps. The reflection in your teardrop of the setting sun over a distant hill. A butterfly landing on your hand and you let her sit there as long as she wants without swatting. The sound of you humming when you are happy.
I suppose I should include a caveat near the end of this intro.
I do not deal with jealousy, dishonesty, drama or complications from EX’s, family or outside sources like friends with problems. I do not have the time, patience or tolerances for nonsense.
