As for my background, I was born in New York City and grew up in Connecticut. Attended east coast boarding schools starting at age 12 through high school. Graduated Kent State University in Ohio with a degree in Radio and Television Arts. Then, I spent a year traveling around the world with "World Campus Afloat". This experience lasted two semesters and was totally amazing.
In the summers I lived in New York City and interned at the NBC Radio Network as a network radio engineer. After graduating college, I returned to NYC where I became the music recording engineer for a production company named No Soap Radio, Ltd. Next, in the early '70's, I met my partner Ned and we built a 24 track recording studio, again in NYC, called Sundragon Productions, Inc. which birthed the first Ramones and first Talking Heads albums among many other wonderful musical projects. In 1982 I made a trip to visit some musician friends of mine in Santa Monica, CA, loved it, and moved west. First I went to work as a radio engineer at KABC Radio. After leaving that job, I got involved in real estate development, and stock market investing. Eventually I built a bookkeeping business with an eclectic clientele, many of whom have become my dear friends.
I am searching for a soulful, spiritual, affectionate, loving lady to share my life with. A lady who likes the comfort of home, but who also enjoys adventure, and likes exploring the world. At one time, I had fun rising at 5:00 AM to be on the first tee at 7:00AM. Over the last five years, I have found other interests. Simply making a pot of coffee and reading the weekend newspapers followed by a walk on Venice Beach or around my neighborhood can provide me with a great sense of being. I am a great fan of Lou Holtz, former Notre Dame football coach and now an ESPN commentator. His philosophy says you need four things in life: 1) something to do regardless of age; 2) someone to love; 3) something to hope for, and; 4)someone to believe in. I have three of the four and I ain't tellin' which I don't have.
He also says: "Never retire because you'll never get another day off". Since I am now all but retired, I believe that I have found that having every day off is one of the best parts of my life. Since you are not retired, Lou, you have no idea of how good having every day off is.
I have lived and traveled throughout Europe, Latin America and Asia. I am not a camper in any sense of the word nor a climber. I have two left feet when it comes to dancing but still embarrass myself on occasion. I like to explore flea markets and the occasional garage or yard sale. Believe it or not, I enjoy shopping at Target, T J Maxx Home and Ross. Walking, bike riding on the paths by the ocean, weight lifting and yoga are parts of my daily regimen. Yoga has guided me to meditatiion which I am trying to get better at-just breathe Don!
My goal is to meet a woman with whom I can develop a relationship and a monogamous one.
